Is this a red flag?

Ok so my boyfriend had a bad ex girlfriend. They had dated for a year or so but they were in and off again because she would constantly cheat on him. This was about a year ago. We have just started dating almost 5 months ago and I found out that he still has pictures of his ex girlfriend in his phone. He told me that he just hasn’t deleted them because he’s lazy. Is this something I should be wary of?

Deleting a few pictures is not something that takes hours to do.

There are 2 distinctive red flags here.

1. The fact that he did not delete them the second the relation ended.

2. The excuse that it takes so much time to do and that he is too lazy.

If he was really upset about the end of a relation, not only would he have deleted the pictures right away but he would also have removed every trinket, every memory that would remind him of his ex.

This excuse about being lazy is nothing more than a weak excuse by someone that is not really over his ex girlfriend and that secretly hopes to revive the relation.

What should I do next then? I obviously don’t like the fact he has pictures of his ex and it does make me wonder if he still likes her 🤷‍♀️ but I don't know what to do

Ask him why he keeps such pictures and that you do feel offended and hurt that he keeps them in his phone despite having you as a girlfriend. Suggest that you delete the pictures in his presence. If he agrees, then you have nothing to worry. If he does not, then you are probably in trouble because he did not forget about her.

Yep, that is a red flag. The reason I say this is because of his excuse of being too lazy. Umm, it takes a couple of clicks or touches of the phone to delete a picture…. or app…or anything for that matter.

What this says is that he doesn’t want to delete them. Honestly, not that hard to do so if you want to. There are 24 hours in a day or 1,440 minutes. I just deleted some photos on my phone that I no longer wanted. They were pictures of some directions and another that was just a useless photo.

Want to know how long that took me? About 30 seconds. Let’s call it 1 minute. If I do the math, that took.00069% of my next 24 hours. See how easy and non time consuming that is?

Even the laziest of people should be able to handle that. I think it isn’t even a question of him having the photos anymore but the fact you are dating the laziest person in the world possibly.
