Is this a red flag?

I’ve been with my fiancé for 7 months now, and I’ve recently had my birthday our first one together.

He asked me many times what I wanted for my birthday but since I knew one of his cars just broke down and it was costing him a lot to fix it, I wanted to not cost him a lot more since we’re middle class and he had just paid 3000 dollars to fix the car.

I therefore asked him to make me a cake for my birthday and was ok with him getting the cake mix as I knew he’s not an excellent cook and that it’s the cheapest option. He ended up paying under 5 dollars for all the ingredients.

the day of my birthday (we live together by the way) he decided that it was the right time for him to work on the car, provided it had been broken for over a week and he has two cars, he ended up taking 6 hours to work on the car and when I finally got fed up and ended up deciding to go and get myself some birthday cake on my own.

he saw me leaving and insisted on tagging along. He ended up paying 20 dollars for two slices of cake at the restaurant and once we got back made sure to make a 100 jokes on how the sunlight is now gone and I’m not very understanding of the fact that he needed to work on his car.

Is this a red flag?
