My friend is making me doubt my crush?

I was talking to this guy and we hooked up and had plans to hangout again. But he texted me saying that he couldn’t hangout again just yet because he was going through a lot, and that he wants to talk to me about it, and will talk to me about “it” once “it’s” over. I don't know what he’s going through, because that was the last text he sent me. And I don’t know what he was referring to by saying “it”. He does keep his word, so I’m just going to wait until he reaches out to me.

Anyway, a while back, I followed him on instagram (we’re friends on FB) and he didn’t accept my follow request (I ended up canceling my follow request anyway), and I told my friend about it. She apparently told her boyfriend (we’re good friends) that she thinks the guy I’m talking to isn’t interested (her boyfriend told me that). Then she told me, “oh by the way, my boyfriend followed him on instagram and he accepted it”.

I know this sounds stupid, but now she’s making me doubt things.

I would say wait it out a bit. If he said he wanted to talk to you personally about it after everything then he might be taking his time. Also try not to overthink it, it’ll make you feel worse. I know it’s easier said than done but you got this. And as for your friend she’s definitely not your friend for doing that. She’s pretty much rubbing it in that the guy followed her boyfriend. If the guy doesn’t text after a bit maybe send a text to check in. If not just keep going on with your life 🤷🏻‍♀️
