Have you heard of the old adage “actions speak louder than words”? It has never been truer! You should certainly not stay in a relationship with such a man. If you are planning to start a family in the near future, especially with this guy, it would frustrate the heck out of you because financial stability is very very important for a happy, healthy home.

Is he actively trying to work towards becoming better or is it no work, all talk? Never trust his words, only judge by his actions. You’ve mentioned that he only smokes weed all day and does nothing… is this the type of man you want to spend your life with? He seems to have zero passion towards life. The fact that he does not have good hygiene is a tell tale sign of this. Why cannot he keep a job? Sounds like a lame excuse for his lethargy.

I may sound cliche, but the only thing you could do IF you really want to date him is wait for him to start being better, and support him OR if you value your time and sanity, you could break up with him. I would choose the latter.

I would leave if he doesn’t change his ways or has no intentions on becoming better.  Like at least wash yourself regularly, jeez. Can’t put up with that.

Someone like you describe, really needs to clean up his act and get his life together. He shouldn't even be thinking of raising a family yet. I know people are more open to marijuana now compared to the past, but someone cannot live a normal productive life if they are using it all the time like that.

I would not get into a relationship with such a man. If I were in it then I would get out because home and stoned and whatever all the time is a disaster waiting to happen. It is both unsavory and poor judgment of him. It is a deep-seeded character issue that will not change. Sorry !!
