If you take great pictures of yourself and post them - that means when you meet someone they expect to see the person in the photos.

Wouldn't it be better to post natural pictures of yourself? That way when you meet someone you will look exactly like your pictures.

What you're saying makes sense, yet people tend to want to raise their odds by enticing potential partners by things they won't actually get. Using old pictures accomplishes the same thing. Unfortunately, this bait and switch approach is more likely to turn people off, when confronted with reality, than if they were open and honest from the start. This would be like a guy claiming he became a millionaire at 21... never mentioning he went bankrupt by 25.

The purpose of a picture is to attract someone to read your profile and hopefully want to meet you. It's not deceitful to post a fabulous picture. People on dating sites pretty much know that the person in teh picture is probably not the same as the person they meet.

Your photos should reflect who you are in real life. If your look is very glam then it makes no sense to have photos pretending you're down to earth and same goes for the other way round.

Depends.

A good picture of you in my opinion, is one that is accurate.
So in that sense, no.

A bad picture is often the result of camera lenses distorting shapes, so while not intentional, is still deceitful.

But if they are wearing makeup or photoshopping the picture, then yes, it's deceitful.

If they naturally just look good, then no, it's not.

No; it's not. As long as you're willing to hold yourself to that standard. Keep striving for excellence. If you don't let your foot off the pedal and let yourself go, then they will have nothing to complain about.
