Why do women who date/fall in love with younger men get judged so harshly (and much more so than when the gender age gap is reversed)? (Page 2)

I've been dating my boyfriend for about 7 months now. He's about 14 years younger than me. I was super hesitant at first because I was worried about him being so much younger (the youngest guy I dated before was about a year younger than me). However, after I gave him a real chance I fell head over heals for him. Moreover, we have an absolutely amazing relationship and are super compatible with one another. We deeply love and support one another. However, one thing that honestly does really bother me is that we (especially me) get judged all the time by others for the age difference. It's fairly common for us to get some weird stares when we hold hands in public or people find out we're a couple. II really hate it when people call me a 'cougar'. It implies some strange desperate older woman in a midlife crisis actively 'hunting'/ looking to take advantage of a younger man as a sort of 'boytoy'. It also strongly implies real love or a real long term happy relationship can't seriously happen between the two of them. Moreover, it's actually really sexist. There's no term for an older man who dates a younger woman. If an older man was dating a woman 14 years younger they'd get a lot less judgement and headache than we're getting. Why do people judge older women who date younger men so harshly? Why do you think we get so much harsher judgement than older men who date younger women Side note: The one thing I do more or less get is when people assume I'm uninterested or unable to have more kids (although I'm 39, so I'm not that old). However, both of those things are not true
