Opinion on 16f and 22m age gap?

You asked for opinion. Mine is that that specific situation is a really ugly minefield. I dont think there's anything morally worng with it. There's three areas I'm looking at: 1) six years isn't a big age gap. Lots of relationships with much larger gaps. 2) in a lot of places, that's below the age of legal consent -- the whole legality thing gets complex, particularly when the parents of the 16 year old get involved. 3) the real issue is maturity and compatibility and this is where I think the minefield is. If you have a couple who are 24 and 30 their lives are much closer and their maturity is much closer -- they can more easily bond and work together. 16 and 22 presents a litany of challenges to overcome that I'm not sure would make for a successful relationship. It can work, but it would be very difficult and both partners would have to work really hard and really deliberately to make it work.

Nope. You are too young for this ngl, there's nothing wrong about dating an older guy but think about it this way, just 2 years ago you were still 14, still innocent. Keep that innocence. But you do you, don't let him take advantage of you. It's so wrong though. Predatory behavior. Why is he not with an 18-year-old or a 20-year-old?

Simple dating without sex, wouldn't be illegal here... having sex though would be if anyone finds out.

There is a four-year age here, so a 16-year-old could technically have sex with a 20 year and be fine.

The gap itself isn't the real issue here, its that the younger person is only 16.

Well it depends on where you are as far as what is legal. Some idiot girl said he’s a rapist is a complete moron. Maybe you look older than 16, how’s he supposed to know that unless he asked you. Now if you were 18 and he was 24 no one would say a damn thing especially that moron who said he’s a rapist. But for legal purposes I think you should wait till you’re of age to be w him if that’s what you want. Especially if you like him, you don’t want to get him in trouble. But on the flip side of the coin he should consider the same thing, that he doesn’t want to get in trouble. Someone else pointed out maturity as if he was more mature than you, which most of us know men remain immature for a long time. If you both like each other it’s best you wait.

6 years when you're 16/22 is a lifetime of difference in experiences. That's like a college graduate dating a high school sophomore. Creepy. Don't do it.

If you were 26 and he 32, that's not so bad. At least you're at similar places in your lives.

Depends on legality of it and the maturity of the sixteen years old. However, I find it rather unsettling because the maturity gap between a sixteen years old and a twenty two years old is rather significant in majority of cases.

It is too much, when you are 26 and he is 32 it is 100% fine but at 16 and 22 it is way too much. It also may be illegal depending where you live, if it is legal it is barely legal.

The ideal age-gap for dating is 6 years, where the man is older. We may often see significant age-gaps in some romantic movies, but the truth is that the ideal age difference in a relationship is not as big.
