1st off. You keep saying nearly 17. So that means your 16 and he is 22. If he has sex with you, he could be arrested for saturatory rape. And that is your parents choice because you are a minor, and fall under the guardians of your parents.
2nd. Your parents are probably trying to protect you from him. He is 22. He could be looking at you as a prize to sleep with. Don't know if you have or have not. I'm sure to your eyes, he is everything you want in a guy, but parents are older and usually have more wisdom, and see through some of his bullshit.
I know I wouldn't want my 16 yr old dau dating a 22 yr old. Now when she is 20 or so, and has her life going on if she dates a 30 yr old guy, and he noce and has a good job, I would be happy foe her, as long as he good to her.
I dated somebody who was 17 when I was 22. I went into this relationship knowing we would not have sex for a long time if ever. I always treated her right and never pushed myself on her. I just wanted to be with her and have a relationship. Her parents were okay with it.
When did you eventually have sex?
Well. I would assume it is because when this dipshit knocks you up and bails your parents don't want to have to continue raising you annnnd your baby. It is also barely legal pedophilia. A 22 year old man hanging around a 16 year old child for sex is essentially what it boils down too. If you really are 16 then you are too young to see it. I mean by the very virtue of the fact that you are not old to understand why parents wouldn't want a 22 year old adult man screwing thier teenage child kinda proves you are likely not mature enough to be in such a relationship.
I think they are worried you will be more sacrificial than him because your more likely to be vulnerable than an older guy. I recommend volunteering to make friends.

Since you're 17, I am shocked that they haven't made you break up with him. Maybe it's legal where you live, but I wouldn't let a 17 year old child of mine date a 22 year old.
She’s 16
@Sixgunsound: Even more so if she's 16
I always felt I was 10 years older then the rest of guys my age when I was his age. I didn't come across too many guys at 22 that had earned the title of men. Most were still boys who weren't mature enough to be trusted with much.
Then gap isn't the problem, its simply the fact that you're what a sophomore in high school.
How old are you? How old is he? What's he doing with his life? The 30-year-ols that seems mature to an 18-year-old can appear quite immature to her parents.
I'm nearly 17 and he's just turned 22. And he works
He makes money so thats all that matters
They're being protective. I've been with older guys and it can be a perfectly healthy relationship. You can DM/follow me if you like.
Depending on where you live an age difference like that is illegal to begin with.
If you so happen to live in a place that makes it illegal to date a 22 year old with you being 17 then boom, there goes your answer.
Your parents Don’t want you to be Fucked
Only a creep parent Wants there child to be Fucked in all her holes.
They're trying to be protective, and remember, from your parents' view, "No man is good enough for my daughter."
Because you're a child and he's an adult. He should be adulting and you should be enjoying the few years you have left of not having to adult.
I need more context to judge this situation, but parents are usually just protective over their kids
What context do you need?
oh actually I've just been scrolling down - you're 16 and he's 22? if my daughter or sister or whoever was 16 and dating a 22 year old i would get them to break up or call the police bloody hell, completely understand your parents' side. How the hell did you meet a 22 year old when you're 16 and what's wrong with him that he can't date someone that's legal? would you let your daughter date someone in this situation? and yes you can talk about how nice he is and how much you like him but that doesn't take away from the facts
how long have you been together?
We've been together for 2 months
no man, that's still bad. I have a 16 year old sister and if she told me she was dating a 22 year old now I would tell her exactly what I told you and push for a break-up. Where on earth did you meet this 22 year old who thinks it's okay to date someone still in secondary/high school? What do you guys even have in common? The life experiences and wants of a teenager are very different to an adult
We just both like each other and doing romantic things to each other
the pictures are unnecessary. you fail to mention how old you are and how old he is. i sense a lot of immaturity. so that's a big reason why.
I'm nearly 17 and he's 22
How much older? What do they think you should be focusing on instead?
He's 22 and I'm nearly 17
If my daughter was 16 being taken advantage of by a boy that much older you better but I will be intervening too. In my state that is considered statutory rape, and under the provisions of article 35 governing the use of deadly force I would be justified in blowing the back of his head off.
I also have to wonder why at 22 he is so immature that he can’t get someone his own age and needs to prey on an unsuspecting child?
They’re being overprotective. Like helicopter parents.
Well, what are the reasons they've given you? That they think he's interested in you for sex?
Bc you asked in your other question that what would you do if your son brought me to home what would you do to me 😂
Maybe they’re looking out for you. If you’re over 18. Then I guess if he is good to you
Why do you keep saying "nearly 17" instead of just saying you're 16? This sounds phony.
hard to say without knowing how much older he is 5 years or 30 years older?
There might be concerns about legality. How much older is he?
Because this whole "older than the girl" shit, IS BORING, AND FUCKING CLICHE
STOP BEING A SHEEP
They probably see the flaws in him that you don't and their might be lots of them. Love is blind. Your also too young to be dating him, and if he was such a catch then wouldn't resort to dating 16 year old.
Maybe they see something about him that you don't see. Love can be blind. Your parents are just trying to protect you, as they should.
Only they have the answer. Maybe they don't know him well enough yet!
Because he has more experience could make a fool of you or hurt you. That's what you're parents are worried about
No; it's because he doesn't know how to keep his hands to himself.
The age gap might be a lot to them at your age, maybe they think he will just be taking advantage of you
I've already told them that he isn't doing anything bad to me. And the age gap is only 6 years
It’s not bad of a gap but may seem like a big gap at your age to them if you’re under 18
I'm nearly 17
That’s a minor in most places in the country so that’s another reason
@Asker have you had sex or done anything sexual yet? i won't judge
Yes we have
@Asker can you follow me? and actual sex or just oral or?
Actual
@Asker fun! did u follow me?
@Asker did u get my message?
That's not a good enough reason? Honestly, that's all they need.
The age thing might just be a simple wedge. It is probably more likely his behavior or perceived behavior. Has he love bombed you? Are you 18?
I'm nearly 17 and he's 22 and I thought love bombing was a good thing?
Oh, well that's why, he is far too old to be dating a minor. Also love bombing is not a good thing. It is how people manipulate others in to giving them things they shouldn't. It is a typical tactic of scammers.
He isn't trying to scam me tho 😠we just love each other!
He might be trying to scam his way into your pants. Love bombing is a tactic that is also used by players. "Players only love you when they're playing" - Fleetwood Mac
I think that's just stupid then
Perhaps, but if it wasn't effective people wouldn't be doing it.
I'm surprised your parents haven't disowned you yet
Wtf why would they?
i would of. just look at the pictures you posted. i wouldn't want a daughter like you
That's so horrible to say. What's wrong with me?
They may think it's dangerous, that doesn't mean they're right.
They probably think he's just gonna use you and then dump you.
I think you answered your own question
How much older is he than you?
Only 6 years
They're worried that he will take advantage of you since you're young.
How much older? And how old are you?
6 years, I'm 16
What are we talking?
Ask them
How older?
Only 6 years
That's not too old tho parents have different concerns. A male parent would not just any guy to bang his daughter and same with a female parent. This just one reason. I bet there can be many more.

What do you think is the emotionally most costly let alone financially and educationally and worst mistake of teen moms?
I'm not sure
What do you think is the emotionally most costly and worst mistake of teen moms? Let alone financially, educationally and over all health wise just for now.
I don't know
Being a teen mom. Not planning ahead. Being with a wrong guy. Who knock them down and leaves.
He won't leave me though!
I was prepared for similar answer. All the best!
You know what is most common in people who make bad decision/s?
What?
Forget bad decision please. Think in terms of it's too late when we get to regret.
Trusting wrong person. Letting our guard down and such.
We are just trying to address your question.
In terms of your parents concerns. The best would be to sit down and talk open mindedly with open ended question in ideal setup. It should be a proper debate. Between you and parents. Allow them to prove their point and try to see it from their view.
They have lived life. They have been there. Don't discount their experience just yet.
Ask them
