See, it goes both ways; don't generalize, anon.

It's because they're not over their ex yet, or they're trying to express to you why things didn't work out- maybe as a warning to you that, "Hey, this is what I like/don't like... please don't be like my ex!"

Now if she's constantly talking about her ex and how she misses him? She's not over him yet, and I'd leave her alone because she's not in the right mentality to be dating anyone right now.

Either way, they showing that they still have emotions for the guy. Good or bad, doesn't matter, they still not over them and should work that out before trying with someone new. I can honestly say I regardless of how it ended, I wish my ex's the best , but am indifferent where they end up.

she keep brought up her ex stories like why she fall in love with him, what he did, and confusingly how it end or not.

while I asked her about other things it keep straight back to her ex stories.
