Guy I'm talking to says he's a "horrible person"?

A guy I've started talking to says he's a horrible person. He said in an ironic way "I'm a horrible person, but I love my mum." Red flag or nah? I know it was meant to be a joke but. What would you think if someone you're interested in said that?

Yikes. One the one hand, he could be joking. Truly horrible people usually don't think they are horrible. They think they are nice but do horrible things. On the other hand, he could be revealing something about himself.

It’s a red flag. He’s said that so later when it’s revealed what’s toxic about him he can tell you that he was honest in the beginning.
