It’s interesting, but not very useful. Men Tend to be “fixers”, like if I come home frustrated, and my ex would ask me what’s wrong, I’d tell him, but I just need him to listen and let me know that he heard me. But in reality, he would dissect everything into smaller solvable “chunks”. I don’t need you to solve my problems for me, I need to know that I can count on him to just be there to listen to me.
I have heard about girls wanting guys to just "listen" to them and not actually need to help them. Feelings of security I guess. But I do wonder. Would you like it if someone listened and as well offered to help you? And if not, then why? Do you feel like you have to do it alone to prove to yourself and to others that you can do it yourself and feel great about yourself? I do wonder how you girls feel on that one?
@YourFavoriteFriend It has nothing to do with “proving” anything or feeling good about myself! When I tell my boyfriend about a bad day, I just want to know I was heard. We are all individuals with different wants and needs. For me, just talking about my bad day gets it out of my system, out of my mind, and it makes me feel better. It’s basically my (and many other women’s) way of venting, of knowing that I was heard, and understood by my boyfriend, and that he didn’t just tell me how to fix the problem, as if I was incapable of doing it on my own. It just makes me feel better, feel loved and feel cared for. But not ALL women are like that. Some are the exact opposite! It’s no different to the way some men vent by appearing angry, yelling, or slamming objects, and slamming doors. While other men get quiet and some are somewhere in between, b/c not all men are the same either. If we were all the same, what would be the point of dating? Why get to know someone if we were ALL the same?
Oh, ok! Thank you for sharing!
For me, it definitely was. I had this phrase where I was really into watching dating coaches for guys and then I would casually ask the guys in my family about it. A lot of the things they said was interesting while also learning about how guys think (for the most part, not everyone works the same, ofc). It's kind of funny how simple it is.
Sometimes too much information can be counterintuitive and counterproductive. I do not see the benefit in researching it.
I would only ask and care for an advice from a woman that is in the age group I'm dating and that I do trust a lot.
I totally agree! people my own age, but w/ more experience give MUCH better, and more applicable advice than people older than me! I fully understand that a forty or fifty year old guy has dated WAY more people than I have, and that he may know a lot… but dating has changed SO much from when our parents and grand parents were dating. So (to me) dating advice from people THAT much older than I, well… it’s just irrelevant to today’s dating experience. I’m really glad to see that I’m not the only person who thinks that way! DGMW, my mom did give excellent advice, but she focused more on the unchanging nature of men and women and what guys want to do & try to get away with sexually, and how I should’ve handled it w/o just leaving and never seeing them again. Rather than giving me specific advice on the actual dating experience its’ self. Thanks @YourFavoriteFriend it’s once to know that I’m not alone in thinking that.
* It’s NICE to know…*
@CrazyGirl2 Yeah, I'm pretty sure we are not alone. I think I have heard others saying that as well. It makes absolute sense to me. Yet, boomers have a hard time to understand why we don't like and hear their advises for some reason...

Definitely, you get a better insight on how the other sex sees stuff.
Especially the first, as far as I can remember, he even explains the female though patterns and then tells them a "solution"
Or you ask me and I will explain 😂👍🏼
Ohh and to add, some videos are definitely not good and giving wrong ass advice. You need to take care. Especially men, cause there are a lot of toxic "alpha males" giving the worst advice ever!!!
not for myself but for what goes on in the minds of other people.
It is counter intelligence. Just as useful as in war.
I think thats useful to learn yes
No not really.. everyone is different so we all have different ways of doing things that work for us that may not work for others
YouTube? No. Here, yes.
Barely.
