Should I entertain someone I don’t see a future with?

I recently started a job in August at a hospital and a co worker approached me mentioning me being new to the job. As time progressed, I realized he’ll try to make conversation and recently after so many interaction he asked me do I have a boyfriend. I had a feeling where the interaction was going because I sensed he was attracted to me.

However, I decided to do my research when I felt he was planning on make small interactions whenever he saw me in the hallway. He follows 1,000 half naked women and the life he lives isn’t my preference. He seems like a cool guy but I dread seeing him in the hallway because I know whenever he see’s me while leaving his unit it’s a new approach everyday.

I tried to imagine myself going out with him and see if this is even a guy I see myself with if there was a possibility. I don’t see myself being with this person or going out. I wish he didn’t ask that question..

Not being interested in him romantically doesn't mean that you have to end all conversation with him. You are work colleagues, so I'd advise to just keep it light, loose, friendly, but not overly friendly.

In regards to his social media accounts - it's your prerogative to decide not to date him, based on this. But do keep in mind, people are not what they appear from the outside. Most people have more to them, and they can be greatly (powerfully, and also for the better) influenced by a mere one new person in their life. Always consider that before you write someone off.

But as KB said, you can just act busy, and avoid too much eye contact. He'll get the message eventually.

Nurse here. First off, I would avoid dating anyone from my hospital. Period.

Secondly, if you don't see anything with him, don't waste your time or his. It isn't fair to either of you.

Great advice, how do I respectfully avoid interacting with him? He always stops me if he spots me in the halls and if I cut the convo short or go around the questions it’s still the same approach.

I always say that I really need to be somewhere or I start calling someone on my Vocera. Act busy and usually you won't get bothered.

Okay here's my opinion on this , but I would not entertain someone I don't see a future with. Cause why spend time trying to get someone's attention that doesn't love you because if you were to get married to that person the marriage would be dull & uneventful & - you an your partner would not be able to show how much you mean to each other. So really a person who spends their whole life trying to get with someone that doesn't love them back is useless an so would they're Marriage be.

Hospitals are as bad as a brothel. When i was 19-20 in a hospital a 40 plus year old nurse came after me. I was in undergraduate SO... I thought it was cool at the time. One of those in retrospect THAT you do not have to do !!

No, you gave yourself the answer already. Why waste the present on some deadbeat coomer when you don't even see a future with him in any sense? You can only let him entertain you if you are up for stuff like that, but you entertaining him? Hell no, don't waste your time
