When you date somebody, is it a based on economic calculation?

Not at all. I'm a very practical person. But how much money she makes isn't that important to me. What her spending habits are, how much of a saver she is, does she love deals as much as I do. That tells me a lot more about her. I'm a very practical person. And whether I have a dollar or a million dollars to my name I'm always going to be that way I think. It's kind of ingrained in me. I think I'd have to be with a similar person.

What I look into is that if her is passionate about doing things slightly better than usual.

And for me is hard thinking that someone who does better than usual earns little money. That rarely happens, because people actually want to help those.

Wouldn't you agree that both man and woman would feel safer and live at ease, knowing that their parter with them not because of their monetary status. Example, If I'm making say $100K and my potential G. F. making a $100K, at least I would know she is with me not because of my money, but because of me. Or vice versa, if a girl earns $100K and she dates a guy who earns $100K she also would know that he might be a solid potential husband for her, if she chooses to go down that rout. Not only that, but God forbid if something happens to her husband, (death, divorce, injury) she still be able to fully sustain herself and her kids if she gets any.

Don't get me wrong, looks are everything when it comes to choosing who you be sleeping with, but sleeping with a broken dude or sleeping with a broken girl knowing that she is with you Only because of your money, sucks and those type of relationships never last long.

many of these people say that looks dont matter, money doesn't matter, age doesn't matter. But what you realize when you take a look at the marriage data is that people tend to marry those who are a similar age to themselves. In vast majority of relationships, men tend to marry women who make less money than them. They also don't like to marry women who are older.

if money, age, looks, do not matter. these patterns won't show up in the data.

at the end of the day, these things matter.

For me, not at all. Granted I'm a man, and I also make good money, but what she brings economically to the table (as long as she's not homeless) isn't part of the calculation at all.

My girlfriend works as a dental hygienist, which is a pretty good job, but I value her so much because she's such a kind, moral, and loving girlfriend. Her paycheck doesn't even register to me.

I voted partially. I'm quite successful in my career and expect someone to be equally successful as me. I did date someone in the past who used to earn less than me and that person took advantage of me so I guess I learned my lesson.

Not at all. I choose someone based on morals, looks, them being healthy and likely to produce healthy kids, and having some hobbies in common.

For example, a girl working at Taco Bell part time making $600 per month that was never promiscuous and she would enjoy playing board games with me is MUCH better of a catch than someone making over $100k per year.

girls who wait till marriage for sex do not tend to want guys who say they never want to get married. plus, poor broke women never tend to agree to prenups. its only women with assets of their own to protect who tend to agree to them.

Poor broke women are smart enough to realize that if her husband divorces her, she will be left with nothing. This is why vast majority of them won't agree to a prenup.

Not really, only when a certain situation calls for it but otherwise I don't mind. There's plenty of good people you could be skipping just because of there income status, especially if they're young (in their early 20s and such).

Partially. Not upon how much she makes, but upon how she handles money. I've known people who make $15/hour who have everything handled and others who make over $15K per month who are always broke.
