When looking for a partner, should one only pursue those of the same race?

My friend, he is black, told me part of the reason I’m not having success with women is I’m pursuing too many girls of different races and the majority of people desire the same race. I live in California which is pretty diverse and liberal so I never thought Of race as a factor in liking a girl from puberty onward and just asked out who I thought of as pretty.. however he’s right that I don’t solely go for white girls. There’s so many beautiful women In the world why would I solely stick to white? Not that I don’t find a number of white girls very attractive.

so Would I have better luck in finding a girl if I went for my people solely?

I do not like Chinese guys either socially or politically. I only find their faces to be cute and Chinese guys do not like me either cause I’m not petite, do not have a PhD and did not study at Wharton or Yale. Also the Chinese are very fixated on how charming your social presentation is and I’m too spontaneous and carefree to attract a Chinese guy.

Ok well I’m not saying you shouldn’t go for other races but you should be open to Chinese as well

In California, from my experiences even the people who are 'open' to interracial dating, they still have that slight chance of frowning upon it. It depends on what race/ethnicity you are. Lots of people frown when they see a WM dating a BW. Or when a BM is dating a WW. My partner is Hispanic and I'm a dark skinned person, they don't necessarily care where I'm from, what languages I speak, etc.. they only judge me from the outside. That may be what this guy is trying to prevent in your case.
