Is it ok he sends me a few voice notes every day?

Yes - I’m talking about the same dating app guy who lives in a different (close by) country that I met recently.

We are voice noting each other every day and still getting to know each other. Since he moved to voice noting, he no longer takes hours to respond to my texts but he will send me a few voice notes like once or twice a day.

He apologised saying he gets busy at work so he will voice note me whenever he can.

Should I continue getting to know him or leave it? I am interested but I’m confused as to whether he is.

He’s looking to get into a serious relationship. We’ve talked but there’s still so much more to uncover. We haven’t discussed the practicalities of LDR but it’s a close by country.

I truly think you should talk about this sooner rather than later. It’s only been like a week, imagine later on, dying to see him but you’re literally in separate countries, not even states. Discuss how practical it would be to see each other even once every 2 months. That alone would be torture, weeks passing at a time and how expensive flights, hotels, activities, etc can be. You can get out of the situation sooner before you catch very deep feelings.

Not trying to discourage you, LDR is just rough, and you should have a very clear idea of what you’re signing up for instead of diving in blindly. I’ve done LDR in separate states and even that was difficult and pricey.

Yeah I’ve done two LDRs before. The first one I got cheated on lol. The second one, we didn’t see each other a lot but it was alright because he put in a lot of effort. We’d speak over the phone every day and we had a plan. But we broke up for other reasons.

Same, I’ve done 3 LDRs and got cheated on twice, so I’d never do it again lol. I don't know, I just think you’d be a lot better suited at least finding someone in this country, even if it’s LDR. You’ve already been in this situation before, so why not try something different? I know the dating pool is bleak sometimes, but there’s still more viable potential out there.

Try to be patient, and not jumping into something for the sake of being with someone. I was single for like 3 years up until December 2022 when I met my current boyfriend by chance, not through the dating apps (which I had been using, especially during lockdown 2020 lol). My point in mentioning this is that you never know when the right time will be, but at least let it be with someone that aligns with what you want right now. And thanks! Being cheated on sucks, especially if you struggle with insecurity and trust but I’m much better now☺️

Oh I’m glad things worked out for you! I was also single for 2 years and it was after the cheating situation. It definitely took a toll on my self esteem and confidence…but now I’m very happy to say that’s in the past

I think you need to get a brief, low-risk, casual in-person meeting. If he’s not willing to do that, the risk is that he might not be serious, or even if he is serious you might enter an LDR only to be hurt if it turns out he is not a good match in person. I speak from experience on this matter. For now, I would keep looking for people who live nearby you instead of focusing solely on this fellow unless the two of you meet in person and make sure you really have a connection.

i would continue to search other prospects if it were me to explore any and all options where I am a realist and life is too short to focus and or obsess on only 1 person but that is just me. good luck 😃
