Anonymous(30-35)+1 yDepends on the age bracket.
20-30s -- you're more than likely involving yourself with a tramp that sleeps around, isn't loyal, cheap sex, etc. Or was problematic one way or another with whatever guy was involved with her before. Usually not a respectable partner & usually not that intelligent either otherwise why would she be a single mother without a boyfriend or husband. Typically end up burdered with additional responsibilities, expenses, and bluntly hassle.
40-50s - more than likely divorced a husband that may not have been faithful himself (she may not have been), has children that are older so you usually don't have to be bothered with additional responsibilities or expenses, you're getting a woman who is typically mature, not necessarily dramatic or prone to temper tantrums, and is typically more down to earth than 20-30s who believe because they can sleep around (with men looking for dimwits & cheap sex) that they may be in demand and not just used.
All in all it's generally undesirable for a guy.
You are getting a woman with children which are an additional burden, cost, responsibility. You're getting a woman who may or may not have issues. etc.
I think guys get involved with single mothers because it's typically cheap sex.

Since young single mothers are less desirable than equally attractive young single girls, dating a single mother allows a young guy to date someone prettier than the prettiest young single girl he could date. If a young guy is a 6, the prettiest young single girl he can date is a 6, but he might date 7 single mother. After age 30, the foregoing may not be true because a 35 year old single mother may be as desirable as 35 year old single woman.

She and her ex got along ok which was fine.
I did not want to get in the middle of a toxic relationship.
It was fine, I got along with thenkids ok, and we did a lot of stuff together which was fun.
the youngest was 3.
I didn't try to be their dad, because they already had one.
I never wanted to have kids for whatever reason, but I was fine being around someone elses kids.
and the sex was great, it was like she was making up for lost time.00 Reply
Not much—next to nothing.
I strongly advice not date single parents if you are not a parent.

u +1 yNothing that can be said applies to ALL single moms, but in general. . . single moms tend to be more mature, goal oriented, and appreciative of whatever attention they get.
00 Reply 2.3K opinions shared on Dating topic. None. Extra expenses, more responsibilities, they won't want to listen as much, and since they aren't legally yours, the mother can take them away any time if you break up. Also, likely drama and stress.

+1 yOnly benefit for the man is if he never got chance to have kids,
It benefits the single mother more because there are no children the guy is burning with him, no child support.
Really the benefit in this situation are 100% for the mother.
But most women with kids don’t want a guy who don’t have kids, the only time they are ok with it is when the kids are done with school

We don’t get benefits from dating women at all.
Most women will put out without dating now-a-days so chasing ass is not required. We don’t gain money, stuff, etc
We don’t need them for comfort, companionship, support, etc.
Literally there is no reason for a guy to simp over a female. Just be around and at some point you will get your turn.40 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Dating topic. My stepdad wanted kids, but due to an accident he couldn’t have kids. So my sisters and I are his kids.

+1 yLots of men want kids and not all men can have their own biological progeny. The foster and adoption systems are EXTREMELY anti-male. For some men, dating single mothers is their best shot at being a dad.
00 Reply It's not about benefits, necessarily. It's about does he want the connection and relationship with her. Like, why discard the woman because she has kids -- that's cheating yourself out of an opportunity.

+1 yI know plenty of guys who date women with children... I think that's really irrelevant especially as you get older you're more than likely going to find women or men with children

+1 yHe gets the added benefit of knowing her kids and being a potential role model. If you completely fallen head over heals for a woman, it shouldn't matter if she has kids.
00 Reply I don't know I thought people got to meet her because they loved eachother. I don't know maybe you fall in love with her and her children.

Actually most men prefer not to get with single mother not for lack of looks or personality, but for instance I want a start a family, but if I met a woman who already has a kid I have to deal with a kid that isn’t mine who chances are I’ll have no influence in raising it on top of having to deal with the last guy who got her first and was able to half ass start the family that is now my responsibility, it’s more work and most single moms are only settling for table scraps while craving the main feast I don’t want to start from where another man left off no person does it’s why mens baggage repeals women you don’t want the trama caused by another.

+1 yNone, for men there are no benefits to dating period.
30 Reply There not his. 🤷♀️ as in he doesn't have to take care of them, love them, feed them cause that's the single mother that does it all. Like any guy would date a single mom. Unless there really pretty.

What about the single men that would love to adopt children if only they weren't discriminated against such as they are?

@SpokenTruth just identify as a woman temporarily
Whatever benefits we would gain by dating a non-mother. Single moms just come with a little something extra, but that's life.

00 Reply10.2K opinions shared on Dating topic. The same benefits anybody would get from dating as a whole no
00 Reply816 opinions shared on Dating topic. Hmm yah I don't think I say any are benefits. It's more challenging but also doesn't mean it's troublesome. An upside I see can also be a downside but you won't ever have a dull moment anymore ha

00 Reply Nothing more than you'd get dating a woman without kids. Probably less of a benefit because naturally you'd be sharing her with her family

As someone who dated a few single moms all I learned are a portion are hoes do to they can’t settle and had a child despite knowing they are terrible parents with no appreciation of anything, the ones who seemed appreciative always had to deal with a sack of shit guy who tries to abuse her getting me mixed up in it all, because I refuse to let someone abuse women and kids, just for them to go back to the guy, or start being a predator who withholds, intimacy to get what they want and use it as a reward. And the ones who are actually good parents are to picky and any form of baggage they see on the guys end? Well needless to say it’s fuck the guys feelings who just wants to find love after being hurt by so many. So honestly the dating world in general is just ass but some get lucky

It's hard to give advice, if we don't know what he's actually looking for. Why not just a friends with benefits?
I get that no one wants drama, but a single mom would love to just go out once in awhile. And by "appreciative," I just meant something else. A single mom would love to go out for a beer and pizza, but she also has needs. - +1 y
Fair point if that’s what he’s looking for but most single mothers seem to be looking to just replace the last guy so that’s where it becomes predatory you fulfill her needs she wants you eventually then decides to with hold what was benefiting him till she gets what she wants. Honestly I have a negative out look due to my unfortunate amount of attempts but not everyone thinks as you do honesty it would be better knowing up front what is wanted what benefits you both bring to the table people are realizing both men and women are full of terrible people who are selfish what we known as love is in my eyes dying down and only being used for personal gain I’ve yet to meet a person who meets my standards and they aren’t even high

But I’m ranting on I should make a deprecate post sorry about that 😅

Yes, it seems that you had a bad experience, and think that everyone else will have the same. My advice stands. Take her out for a pizza and beer, and maybe some dancing. Then have her for dessert. It really is that simple.
