Have you ever lied about being single? if so, why?

I have a friend who just started dating this guy. It’s probably been about a month now. She’s telling me all these good things about him- but when I meet him- he’s actually the ex of another friend of mine. A friend that she doesn’t know, of course.
He basically told her that he was single and had 2 kids. When in reality, he’s been in a relationship for 2 years now and have a child by the woman he is with. Which would mean he has 3 children instead of 2.

I’m really confused as to why he would lie as if she would never find out.

So yeah, he's not really lying because Baby Daddy doesn't mean one is married or committed to the Babies' Mother. Babies do mean a Court Ordered relationship but that's not married and a minimal expense for my relational freedom... no problem as my car is paid for.

So, yeah, I am free to travel upon finding a better Destination or Honeypot. Don't call me a liar because you have an outdated understanding of Modernity and how we culturally function within Society... do they even make a planet the one inside your head. I'm single all the day long and with lineage. Life is good but ultimately I'm looking for the One.-Yeah now, that's lying !!

It's not about her finding out... its about her falling in love. Once in love she will have a harder time letting him go.. if she falls in love its easier for him to manipulate her and keep her bond to him even tho he is a cheating goof.

Depends on the situation or social event. Definitely find myself saying I am single and removing my ring if needed for the event.

I lied about the opposite especially in the workplace because in my experience most sexual harassment charges are filed against people who claim they are single whether it's true or not

there's a difference between honesty and stupidity. If your very single for a very long time and late to start things lying may be a better option. Would you admit you had your first kiss at 15 or were a 40 year old virgin.
