I haven't dated a lot but I've amassed substantial assets. At this age I've noticed most women want to know my income. I've made enough that I was blessed to be able to retire in my 40's. So when subject of occupation comes up I never know what to tell them. I always just say "I'm in investments" because it's true. It's just not a 9 to 5 gig. But I never want to divulge my financial position too early. How would you do it without appearing to be hiding anything?

I think it’s okay for a woman to know she is not dating a guy who is going to leave her in poverty with 8 kids to raise, but whether you make 80,000 or 80,000 trillion is not for her to figure out unless you guys have to file taxes together, say you prefer to keep your financial situation private but you have enough for all emergencies, necessities and life maintenance costs and you will help her in crises by paying for taxies or over the counter drugs but will not be buying her caviar and steak. And if you want her to work her own job or do unpaid domestic work, express that so she does not view you as a free ride.
I'm financially independent, at least for the next 30 years currently, and so I get what you mean man. The best thing is to date someone who is vouched for or someone who doesn't need anything from you. A person earning much less can also not want anything from you. Unless you're famous no one is going to know right away, which means they aren't there for that. Just don't tell them right away. There is nothing much you can really do. Just be aware and observant.
Yeah exactly, but that's kind of my point. It's normal to ask people what they do for a living. And one can surmise a rough income based on the response. It's also normal to ask follow up questions. But when you get a half a dozen questions about what you do, how you earn a living you start to take it personal.
