She takes over 24 hours to respond to my messages?

Hi, similar questions have probably been asked a million times but my circumstances are unique.

A girl in my sports team inboxed me on Instagram early last week thanking me for a ride home (about 30 mins after). I said thats fine and then she proceeded to ask me "whats your day looking like tomorrow", or something like that at least. I responded and then the conversation has been expanded for the past week and a half in which she asks me questions and provides detailed responses.

I replied to her message at 12:30pm yesterday (Tuesday) and she has not replied and it is 8:30pm on Wednesday. Her responses have always been at around 9-10pm so I was sort of expecting a reply last night but nothing. She did post a motivational quote to her Instagram story last night so she would seen that I replied (she hasn't `seen' the message).

So I am going to assume that she didn't have enough time to reply in depth to my message last night (I am guilty of this as well with other people) but if it's someone she is interested in, then wouldn't she respond?

Based on the length and further questions in her responses, I am assuming that she is somewhat interested and forgot to reply last night. It's quick and easy to see something on Instagram and quickly share it on her story but not quick to read and reply to my message.

What do you think of this situation?

I was going to ask her out for a walk and coffee this weekend but I am reconsidering if I should ask.

I'd give it at least 48 hours before you consider her AWOL from the conversation. Or, maybe she's she's type of person who puts her phone down and actually has a life; if so, she's a keeper by proxy. But I wouldn't sweat it too much yet.

Also, until you know her intentions, I wouldn't leap to too many conclusions; based on your text alone, you seem like a polite and formal fellow. I'm not saying you're promoted to the friend zone automatically, but being a little reserved won't hurt you in the long run, especially if she doesn't seem to be in a hurry for your replies as of yet.

I won't dispense with any advice about dating team members/coworkers, you seem bright enough to know the risks and I've repeated that too many times tonight for various dating questions as it is. 😂

And finally, I feel you on folks that don't message back on what I believe to be a reasonable time frame. If someone can only spare 3 or 4 messages a day, with a sparse handful of sentences at most, I find it hard to commit any amount of time or interest in keeping the conversation alive. That could be an issue with my ability to hold the interstate of others or maybe I'm just needy, either way it's a silent curse to be sure.

Some people are useless at staying in touch or aren’t into technology. Others aren’t interested. I’d ask her if I were you. If she’s not interested, she’ll tell you.
