It doesn’t make any sense for guys to like short girls since the babies will be short since that is what we are collectively avoiding (short babies) you would think short women wouldn’t get so much love. I think the fact is that men are less picky on so many variables. (They fuck anything) but short women are still really cute to me I guess it’s that they seem vulnerable

By default men are larger and women are smaller relative to one another. Thus men that are larger will be more masculine and women that are smaller will be more feminine. Straight men want women. Straight women want men. Thus whatever traits exemplify this is a male or this is a female will create the most animal magnetism toward the opposite sex. While other higher level thinking comes into courting and mating, from a pure physical attraction stand point that's how it works. Women love tall men, with deep voices, that are fit and muscular. Men like shorter women that have long hair, nice boobs, and round asses. That's not to say that men like kids or babies because they are the shortest possible humans. Because below a certain height both men and women will look like children or like they have a disease and once men and women go through puberty they develop other traits that contribute to either their masculinity or femininity. No one is going to select a mate based on one trait. It's always the combination of traits that creates the appeal.
This one's a little complex, and in parts perhaps kinda dark, so as for men, it does a lot, you can both feel like you are dominating her and protecting her or either one, if we look at it from our basic biology then for caveman a smaller partner takes less food from you and your potential children, as for the darker parts, if you remove ethics and what is right and wrong, a smaller woman would in theory be easier to mate with against her will, as fucked as it may be, evolution and biology don't care if it's consensual, at least in theory, from the female side parts are the same, if your cave family is in danger from a lion our biology dictates the man's job is to be a meat shield long enough for the family to escape, a larger male has a better chance at giving more time, he's also more likely to be able to jam a pointy stick into an animal, you can't discount a modern phenomenon, that being that SOME short guys, even if it's not a conscious thought, will have a issue around height due to what they perceive they will be perceived as

Women on average are almost 6 inches shorter than men do to their hormones. This also means that a short woman will contribute the genetics to a son to be 6 inches taller than her.
Most men like a woman to be shorter, but not too short, either.
Incidentally, my girlfriend and I have just that average height difference. So we could expect a daughter to be as tall as her and a son to be as tall as me, on average.
Apart from that some people go for extreme gender characteristics so that a woman would be very short, with big boobs, or very light-skinned as an exaggeration of natural differences. This happens, but is not a large proportion of people.
Women are shorter than men on average, so a lot of guys will naturally think of it as an indicator of femininity. Men are on average taller than women, so a lot of girls will naturally think of that as an indicator of masculinity. People are also gonna be used to the idea that women are generally shorter and men are generally taller, so whenever that isn't the case, it can be off-putting.

I was about to say that it then makes sense for guys to like short girls but not vice versa, but then I remembered seeing a poll from a few days ago showing how guys also don't really mind when girls are taller than them, so maybe you're onto something with guys just being less picky in general 🙄
Height is everything (for men). Everybody loves short women because height is completely irrelevant for woman and short girls are beautiful, elegant and lovable (just like tall girls). On the other hand, the whole world hates manlets because they are stunted, evil, insecure, school shooting incel pedophiles. Cursed with their height, midget monstrosities. That's why.
