Why do couples that's been dating or married 10+ years fall out of love?

Usually in a couple months or a few years, they see whether they're compatible or not right? So why does it happen 10-20 years later?

Are you the same person you were 10 years ago? Of course not! So why would you expect your partner to be?

The fact is people change over time. This is why it's oh so important for couple to stay connected. I don't care how busy or hectic or how many kids you have etc. Couples should always plan date nights. It's very important to always remind yourselves of what brought you together in the first place. You both will still change over time. But a well bonded couple will grow and change together. If not they will eventually grow apart.

This is why many couples split after thier children leave the nest. They stop being 2 people who fell in love and just become 2 people who are just united in a common goal of raising kids. After that glue is removed. They look at eachother and do 't even recognize that person anymore.

Usually it’s because sex is replaced with nagging, and men become prisoners, they become resentful and tired. So they stop doing anything and then women get angry because he doesn’t make her a priority anymore then nags, stops him from hanging with buddies, or doing things he enjoys, and the cycle continues.

I think it's called by not enough balance. The wife is too mean or too nice. The husband is too dominant or too nice. The children are neglected or have too much control in their lives. The job is too important or not respected enough. The in laws are too powerful or not powerful enough. The friends are too many or too few. One person is too lazy or too hard working and resents the lazy one. The person has too much entertainment or not enough vacations and hobbies. The person doesn't care about things or cares about minor details too much and gets mean when their expectations are ignored.

There is such thing as love. I am in love with my girlfriend and I don’t think that’s gonna change. I literally find myself staring at her because of how in love I am with her (that sounds creepy but oh well)

I think love requires work but some people stop putting in the work which leads to divorce and break up. Or they just simply fall out of love. It's difficult to know why since I'm usually the type to go all in when in love. I'm curious as to why others do it.
