If you were ugly he wouldn’t be your boyfriend. He’s disappointed about something but he should learn to respect you and express his disappointment in a normal way.

In the last stage of my relationship when we were both unhappy in the long distance, my ex told me something that hurt me so much, I got numb. It was Covid and he said he was scared I would get Covid if I went out to have fun with my friends and at that time I wasn’t vaccinated yet. He said “Okay, go! I wished you’ll die. I’ll get a sexier girlfriend.”

He soon apologized and said he was just saying it cause he was scared of something happening to me and wanted to talk me out of my decision.

But one year after that I lived in misery of his constant neglect, emotional abuse and feeling miserable. I wish I didn’t accepted his apologies, I actually almost broke up with him after he said that, but he reconciled with me and asked me for forgiveness. Later on, he was the one always breaking my heart and hurting me, being the total opposite of the man I fell in love with.

So here’s the thing. I have never called him words. Because I loved him, it’s only a beginning, he’ll start calling you worse things if you forgive.

The thing is after he hurt me, he always apologized me and became his kind self again, trying to make me happy and make me feel loved.

Looking back at my old pictures, in the last year of my relationship, my eyes were full with immense sadness and sometimes they were totally empty and emotionless after the pain I experienced.

I tried to be a good girlfriend, I really tried. I don’t think I deserved feeling this way and I don’t think anybody deserves that. I will never tolerate it again and I hope you know of you tolerate it, you’ll ruin yourself…

I'm glad you'll never tolerate that sort of behavior again. It always blows me away to hear when someone is treated like this and they stayed with the person. I have walked out of relationships with people I cared for a lot for much less than a "I wish you would die." type statement. It is wild to me when for some reason people are treated like that and it causes them to feel like trying harder for the person who said it. Anything even close to that, it causes the opposite reaction in me and I wish to no longer be around that person. I don't like feeling bad, and when people make me feel bad, I don't like being around them.

When my boyfriend and I first started dating I moved to attend university. After a couple of days or a week we were on FaceTime and he asked me to send him nudes, I was uncomfortable with it because I’d never done that and just didn’t want to at all so I told him I didn’t really want to do it and he went in a bad mood with me, ended the FaceTime call and didn’t speak to me for the rest of the night. I felt so upset and pressured to send them as I thought he’d only speak to me again if I sent pictures but I didn’t send anything. He ended up apologising, I forgave him and we moved on and now he looks back and is mortified because it was so bad of him. I ended up sending pics in the future but he accidentally added one to his SNAP STORY and our male friend saw!!! So I don't recommend doing it especially if you are not comfortable with it. If my boyfriend had called me ugly etc. after I first said no I would’ve totally left him straight away.

First things first. You did good. Sending nudes is never ever a good idea. It is one of the most foolish and irresponsible things anyone can do, regardless of their relationship status. Devices can be hacked and photos can be leaked. Or someone can willingly show photos to "friends" to show off (I've seen questions from girls here before talking about how their boyfriends showed their nudes to friends).

Second, your boyfriend does not truly love or value you if that is how he acts when you tell him no on something like this. If you want my opinion, I say dump the beta schizoid loser.

Third, on that note, say you'd sent the photos to him and you broke up later. What would stop him from posting them on one of those revenge porn sites that I've heard about? I can think of at least two problems with this question.

1. If a female asks you "Am I ugly," she leaves you with no choice to say no. She doesn't really want your opinion about it she just wants you to tell her she is not because she feels insecure about herself. So no matter how anyone answers you, you cannot be sure if they are telling you what they really think and any relief you get by a "no" answer is sadly not going to help you overcome your insecurity just give you a temporary drug fix until you are again questioning yourself.

2. No one here knows anything about you, so how can they have any sensible opinion about whether you are ugly or not. The fact that you even care what anonymous strangers have to say about it leads back to your insecurity issues described in #1 above.
