Should I smoke pot with my boyfriend?

He’s quite a bit older than me and grew up in a time where pot was not legal. Therefore, he likes to drink from time to time instead. He’s very classy and thinks of me as such. He said he’s open to smoking pot together. He did mention once that he friend zoned a lady who smoked pot. So now I’m not sure. I really want to keep him and be the best person I can be. I love pot, by the way. Haven’t smoked in ages though.

It took me 3 years of research before legalization for me to really deprogram from War on Drug and parental propaganda. If he's a classy, sophisticated man, he'd probably appreciate some of the more scientific and evidence based information we have today.

But, before you do, ask him why he friendzoned the stoner girl.

If it comes out he hates the smell/taste of smoke/resin, that's fine! There's edibles and oils you two can enjoy (and even make together) which can avoid that unpleasant odor and (some) taste.

If it comes out he doesn't like being high or has other concerns around it (I had an ex who took a while to get used to my weed use since he lived somewhere it was still illegal), then maybe pump the breaks.

Don't risk a beautiful relationship for weed.

That said, ask. Communicate. Maybe with time, his opinions and curiosity have changed.

I mean I don't generally suggest smoking anything ever, but if you're going to, and he's comfortable joining you then feel free. If you're worried he'll think less of you or something for it then you'd probably already know because he probably would have said something negative about it or mentioned that he didn't want to. I suspect you're overthinking right now.

Ask him what that woman did that made him friend zone her. Was it only because she smoked pot? Or did she smoke up all his shit once. lol. If it was only because she smoked, then I would be worried.

Discuss it with him and and see what his opinion would be on you smoking pot and whether it would affect your relationship or not. If he’s okay with you doing it occasionally, then you should if that’s what you like doing, but definitely don’t turn into a stoner. It’ll ruin your brain and isn’t attractive.
