Trending & News Average-looking women generally do better than average-looking men - at least until the man has built himself up (career, home, car, resources, confidence, etc.). At that point, men begin to have the advantage. So, generally, average-looking women in their late teens and 20s do fine, because they also have youth, and average-looking men in their 30s and 40s do fine (if they've built themselves up), because they also have status, resources, and confidence.
It's important to understand what the other sex values - because it isn't the same thing your own sex values.
True...
@MyOwnMan2 when did i ever send nudes to u wtf?
@MyOwnMan2 i never did
I think everyone struggles in different ways. For women if you’re below average you’re going to have a really hard time dating and have to compensate heavily with your personality. If you’re average to a little above you can find success as you’re attractive, more approachable (as in pretty but not intimidatingly pretty) and if you have a good personality you’re in a good spot. If you’re way above you will attract a lot more men in general but the struggle there will be more of if the guy genuinely likes you or if it is just for your looks. If your personalities aren’t compatible looks can only take you so far. The more attractive you are the more success you will have unless your personality sucks. So yeah if you’re unattractive you’re gonna have a harder time which is unfortunate since that is out of your control
No.
I'm "average looking". I don't sleep around (too much self respect / esteem). I dress respectfully - I NEVER reveal more than necessary skin. I act respectfully.
I've NEVER had an issue. Hell years ago when walking in a mall with my mum I had a crowd of guys turn around and look as we passed.
Just yesterday I was helping my parents with some contractors.
Three of the four were being flirtarious - and they were decent looking guys - because as one put it finding a good respectful woman with a calm non pretentious personality from a nuclear family -- so raised properly -- is likely finding gold.
And he's right.
The average woman in the west is more adept at being a pretentious whining contribute little, acting and dressing like a prostitute, more than she's a potential wife.
Define "date." By my standards, yes. By most of American societies standards, no. I mean, 90 percent of baby mommas/baby daddies that are so rampant in American culture now fit that physical description... and they've become baby mommas/daddies because obviously others found them somewhat attractive... now, as to whether or not any of them have actually been on real "dates" or not is another question entirely... because getting drunk/high and bunny humping blindly doesn't qualify as a date by my standards.😗

They struggle with their ego and the types of people they think they deserve to be with! Standards too high more than not!
I don’t care what anyone says. I’m over average in looks and dating is so f*cking difficult that sometimes I wish I was more conveniently attractive. Being conveniently attractive is a gold mine in general dating whereas being very attractive only benefits you in high profile settings. My looks could probably get me a very successful type of man but I’m not in those social settings, so it doesn’t benefit me that much.
Of course there’s a lot that goes into why a very attractive woman would be single but from my general experience even if you’re a super friendly but very attractive woman, you’ll always either intimidate men or they only see you as a trophy or someone to sleep with. Some women literally hate my guts when I enter the picture but if they knew how shitty my luck was when it came to dating maybe they’d think again.
Real world dating isn’t made to accommodate the extremely unattractive or the extremely attractive.
Are you tall for a woman too?
Tall and beautiful women generally seem intimidating, that's the problem?
@cyclingkmi Yes, I’m decently tall, I’m 5’9” how did you figure that?
Yeah I guessed it by your opinion here. Also in general above average looking women are generally taller than average women and that adds to their looks which makes them inapproachable for an average man. Any man who is just average in looks and ok-ok in height wouldn't dare approaching a woman that's tall and also beautiful. Because he knows he stands NO chance with her and hence he totally ignores her / her presence and wouldn't even bother to know her as a person and be friendly with her.
Am I right?
@cyclingkmi Lol you’re correct. I always wondered why a lot of guys ignore me. Or are even rude to me for no reason. So, what do you suggest I do to combat this? I struggle with this at the gym. Most men will stare at me, some completely ignore me some even rude to me. I’m not saying all men would be interested but it’s blatant, a man will stare at me then completely ignore my existence if our eyes do not meet, like I denied them. I’m very down to earth, though. What do you suggest I do to be more approachable?
No , you can't do anything and need to do anything! It is what it is. A tall woman is anyway intimidating to most men especially for average and short men.
by the way as a tall woman how do you feel about short men?
Doesn't it seem really odd and frustrating when ugly and/or short men look at you for long or try to approach you?
@cyclingkmi So weird you know my experiences so well! Yes, mostly who approaches me when I am approached, are either highly arrogant men or unattractive men.
I have no problem with short men! Most men I am around are my height or taller so I’m assuming 5’9” would be a short man, I think under 5’6” would be too short to me but I am not highly judgmental of shorter men. I’ve noticed sometimes even when I’m walking, men will move out of my way very suddenly even when I’m not in their way. Makes me feel as if I scare men.
Well look, it’s becoming an issue because I can not get a man, a boyfriend anything of the sort. I guess since there’s nothing I can do about my height what u can do to be more approachable. I’ve been conditioned to believe men don’t like tall women but I don’t know what to believe.
You've never had a boyfriend yet? No relationship whatsoever?
Do women approach you?
Do you act friendly with people especially men?
What if a 5'6 average looking fit guy approached you?
@cyclingkmi I’ve never had a boyfriend, no. But for whatever reason women are uncomfortable being around me with their boyfriend regardless. Women either give me dirty looks, try to compete with me or are also intimidated. I’ve been approached by some lesbian women, yes.
No, I’m not friendly. I come off rather standoffish but I don’t think I look mean. I mean, who knows. Maybe. But it’s kind of like if a 6 foot man isn’t going to approach me, neither is a 5’6” guy lol so I don’t think I’d have any luck even if I did lower my standard.
Aren't you interested in women, if they're interested in you? Maybe women would be somewhat more comfortable with/around you since you would be significantly taller than them , generally
Nah it isn't as hard as you think as long as you stay in your own league if you go out of it (or you feel you are with someone out of your league) it will be hard...
I could of dated men that were hotter than me but I pushed them away because I thought they were too hot.. it hurts they left but it was my fault for not taking the risks needed to keep them lol I am starting to see that my whole life I have been sabotaging myself because I think i am ugly..
the more attractive you are, the less struggle you'll have
the less attractive you are, the more struggle you'll have
that being said there is a huge drop-off in difficulty between each level of attractiveness rather than it being linear
I disagree im hot asf but I feel like I struggle hella. Guys always be like why would you even like me? Why is someone like you even going for someone like me? What is your motive etc? There are limitations being attractive too :( Finding someone to date? Easy. Finding someone who wants to stay? Hella hard.
I dont have a personality. hella yes woman. do as my man wants
people think im out for something but no I just want love fuck
@kareenakapur are those guys at least conventionally average or conventionally unattractive?
conventionally average
why would I go for unattractive guys lol
but im also hella sexual so guys be like is she even real
@kareenakapur it would make sense for them to question your motives if they were unattractive otherwise it makes no sense for attractive guys to question your motives
because im hellaaaa nice too. comes off as fake
I feel like there are pro and con for everything right?
Below Average Woman:
Con
- Harder to attract someone by first glance
Pro
- If they do start dating someone the relationship is stronger as the person probably liked them for their personality
Average Woman:
Con
- Does not stand out
Pro
- More approachable
Above average woman:
Con
- Partner is more infatuated by your looks and overshadows more important qualities sometimes for a secure relationship
Pro
- more options
Notice the bifurcation of answers here by gender. It's only the average men who suffer because dating apps and social media has skewed the advantage totally to the females. The average man is invisible to the average female, a fact which can be verified by swiping patterns on dating apps and self reporting of cellabacy from men over the past year.
The entire social media, dating and adult content industry is based on male loneliness and thirst.
If they're struggling, it's probably not because their average looking but a lack of intelligence and/or confidence might be the reason.
Anyone who's a decent person is going to struggle in the dating game my man. Because there's more trash out there than anything. You're playing a rigged game. Just do the best you can and try to stay positive. Because the few good women that are out there.
No, I’d say super attractive people and really ugly people struggle a lot more.
It depends on their own personal preferences/standards.
I see an awful lot of average and below average guys and gals walking around with partners, and it's not because they are wealthy, either.
No because *shocker* most people are average. Even a lot of the so called good looking people you see out and about - are they making money with their looks? Probably not.
There are some truly exceptionally good looking people no question about, but most you encounter, especially if you consider them good looking, would probably be lumped into the average category. That's why the whole leagues business / "out of your league" is bullshit.
Everyone struggles. Being attractive may make you more confident and that is helpful but it doesn’t frost the cake.
being attractive gives you a cake to frost
Not compared to ugly and good looking people. There's something about being an objectively attractive person that makes life harder in that department.
I wouldn’t say moderately attractive people have it harder than good looking people I’d just say the good looking people have more options to choose from.
Explain attracitve women who are never hit on or asked out? because men fear rejection.
Obviously not. Open your eyes next time you walk down your local street.
There is way more to a person than looks.
Remember beauty fades, dumb is forever.
dont really think so but its definitely harder then if your super hot that's for sure. think its only hard if you're fat or ugly
Average men struggle because nearly all women think they are entitled to top-tier men. Average women can easily get dates.
I think everyone struggles. Even the attractive ones because they get more people who just want to use them instead of having an actual relationship.
To be successful in dating you need at least 2 of the below.
1 Money
2 Looks
3 Game
Average looking means that's what most people look like. Considering most people be definition look average, then I'd say certainly not
Yeah, I do , I never know who is actually single and women don’t normally approach guys, on dating apps they have too many options with mostly men on there
Average looking women, no.
Average looking men, to an extent.
No they're the ones that do better on the dating scene since most people are average looking
There is no average looking there's smoking hot and invisible. There is no in between
Average looking men struggle, average looking women not that much.
Guys wanting to date, are annoying and exhausting 🤣.
I don’t think so
Struggle? No. Give up intentionally? Absolutely
What do you mean give up intentionally?
Smart men aren’t chasing women looking for relationships with them anymore.
Wouldn't know I'm not even average.
Is the shallow media age, absolutely.
If they are guys, yes.
If gals, no.
I do... hugely
To an extent.
The average man struggles, not the average woman
I don't think so
