I think the more average you are in all regards the easier it for you to find another average person and settle down happily. If you're on the low or high end of the market, it's less likely that you will find someone that is compatible. Sometimes it's of your own making because you want something better than what is available most of the time. For example if you're really smart then dumb people will not be intellectually stimulating so you get bored and if you're really attractive, then you've attracted much better looking potential mates all through your life than most of the riffraff that comes your way so you get accustomed to better looking mates and don't want to settle. On the other hand, when you are that attractive, a lot of people get insecure and don't think they can keep you. This leads to all sorts of jealous, fear of rejection, inferiority complexes, relationship sabotage from your potential mate because they can't just be happy being happy. They don't think they are good enough, and thus they think you will use them or abandon them or reject them or whatever and even when you present yourself on a silver platter, they don't really believe it's their lucky day. It must be a trap...

Men tend to assume that every attractive woman is going to be stuck up and try to take their money.

If a guy chases girls equal to him in attractiveness and is kind to them and has a job and his own place, getting a girl should not be impossible for him. There are a lot of lonely women eager to start a family and willing to sacrifice good looks for a loving and responsible personality. I know guys with good hearts who were single but the main reason is that they never initiated a pursuit of any girl and only entertained girls who came to them to start a dialogue.
