They are far less dangerous than looking in person, because you have the internet as a barrier while getting to know the person. If they turn out to be a creep, you can block them with the click of a button, but in real life, said creep could do you serious harm because he's actually physically next to you. The internet gives you time to figure them out from a safe distance.

You just have to realize that people who are on dating apps are single for a reason, and you should know that reason before going any further with that person. For example, I would have told people on dating apps (because I was on them) the reason I was single was due to my shyness.

You never know who you're talking to on the other side of a conversation. If you are careful and meet in very public place then it's ok. But it takes time to get comfortable with each other online before you meet

Yes there are dangerous people out in the world. Some of them unfortunately are on dating apps. But that doesn't mean you have to abandon all common sense when one messages you. Exercise safe dating practices and you should be ok.
