i asked my boyfriend out
I met my wife through a pre-internet dating service. I sent her a request to meet and she accepted. We met at a restaurant and got along incredible well.
Both of us had been on several dates with others through the site. I had other dates lined up, so I might not have called her back right away.
Two days after our date, she called me and said someone had offered her two tickets to see the Rolling Stones and Red Hot Chili Peppers. She knew I was a rock musician and I knew that wasn't her kind of music. But I was excited to go.
We had a great time at the concert and started dating exclusively.
I admired her courage and initiative in inviting me.
So I invited her to our first meeting, but she invited me on our second date. That second date cemented the deal.
@turnpost. It was a business called Great Expectations. Once you enrolled, they scheduled a photo shoot. You could bring a couple of changes of clothes. Then you picked the photo that you wanted in your profile.
There were rows and rows of shelves full of ring binders in the building, organized alphabetically according to the first initial of people's first names. Blue binders for guys and pink for girls.
Each person had one page. On one side was their profile pic and on the other side was a page with their answers to profile questions.
What I did was flip through the binders and look at photos. If I saw one I liked, I read the profile.
If you wanted to meet someone, you submitted a card. That person would be notified. If they responded positively, the company gave you both each other's phone numbers.
You could submit up to 5 cards per week.
@turnpost. Yeah, well at least there weren't any fake photos. People there weren't phony. And back then, people met in person instead of messaging and playing mind games.
I think it worked better than wasting time with dating app BS. No trolling or catfishing.
I had girlfriends from the time I was 16. But by my 30s, I decided that I was serious about finding the right partner to spend the rest of my life with. That organization was like a candy store and it worked really well.
@turnpost. You can't tell how tall someone is by looking at a studio photo. Your height is in your profile.
I met girls at school, work, and different places because I was active and engaged in living. There are girls out there in the real world. I didn't spend my time looking for them on apps. I didn't dance around getting to know avatars via devices. I just asked them out. I didn't even enroll with that org until I was 40.
We met via an online dating site. After a few interesting online chats, I asked her out to dinner... 6+ years ago... and counting.
@gothbxtch
It was almost a 50/50 and what could have been one of those classic film sketches where both parties are just about to talk at the very same time.
We had been chatting over lunch, when I was just about to ask him what his plans were for that evening, at precisely that same moment he over talked me in asking me almost the same thing!
Needless to say, the rest is history.
He knew I was going to ask him out and he beat me to it. I went out of town for a week and I told him that when I get back, I’m asking him to be my boyfriend, because I want to ask in person and not over the phone. And as soon as I got back and walked through his front door, he put a hand over my mouth and asked me to be his girlfriend 🤣

I had to choose the third option 😂. Because it was rather weird. Neither of us asked each other out.
And I'm assuming you asked out that guy you asked a question about the other day?
Well we met in high school and were friends first, she was dating a woman and I was celibate (results of trauma). Then we started going out socially (I don't remember who asked who to what), and then it evolved into a relationship.
I met her at the beach and she lived in a different state. I sort of invited myself to drive up ans see her. I could not believe that she went along with it.
I asked my boyfriend out and posed it as a question (are we dating?) since at that point he had kissed me a few days beforehand so *technically* I asked him out first
He asked if I wanted a coffee. It all started from there.
Think i probably suggested meeting up for the first time. And I asked about making our relationship official
I gave him a rose on Flower Day and then he asked me out
I asked them out. I had some no go's prior to her, but it worked out for the better. She's smarter and better looking. The whole good things come to those who wait actually happens sometimes.
I asked him out
I let him know I’d agree to a date if he asks me with enough notice and gives me options for the day/time. When he asked, I picked a day and time from the 3 he suggested.
I always ask out the woman. No one has been brave enough to ask me out on a date yet. Women are so shy.
We knew each other from the gym. We always flirted with each other. He asked me for my number one day and that was that.
We kind of fell into dating… we were friends beforehand. But he made the first move with physical touch.
that's cool. but who touched who's penis first?
Neither. We just kissed and both assumed we were together 😂
I asked him out first, but he approached me first.
We both just couldn't resist a kiss and went for it
So no talking was required LOL
My wife didn't give me any choice in the matter lol.
Omg neither lol.. but we are each other's partner after we confessed our feelings to each other
America is land of opportunity.. just saying
I guess he asked me out
We started out as friends and one day she said that she loves me and kinda went from there
A little bit of both honestly.
I'm extremely single
We me5 online. She contacted me.
should i ask someone out? that's crazy
He asked me.
I prefer to be asked
