How do you win over the parents of who you're dating?

When I meet my girlfriends parents I want to win them over. What can I do oe say to do so?

Just be respectful and talk to them. Don't be evasive and don't plan what you will say in advance. Be yourself.

With my second, an appreciation for the finer things in life for her father and never met her mother

I am not sure about winning over her mom, I think your girlfriend herself can answer that better
