Am I in the wrong or is my boyfriend?

Me and my boyfriend have known eachother for less than a year (dated for a couple months) we have gotten really close and he has started saying I love you all the time, multiple times a day and way sooner than I thought. I told him we need to slow down because I haven't even known him for a year and I feel like "I love you" is something for further down the road. I have explained that to him but he still doesn't seem to get it. Is it really normal for someone to say I love you this soon and so often? Or am I right that it's too soon?

You have dated for a few months but you have known each other for a year. Feelings don't follow rules and he was probably developing feelings long before your first date. Regardless of what you think about when it should be SAID, how do you FEEL about him?

I don’t think there’s really a time frame. Just cause you feel this way doesn’t mean he’s wrong for how he feels. Everyone has their own time frame of things. I don’t think a year is too early to tell someone that. Maybe he really does love you. Some people know it quicker than others. Just explain to him your thoughts, that way he doesn’t get his feelings hurt when the feelings are reciprocated.

I think it's normal to say I love you after a couple of months of dating. But saying it multiple times a day is a bit much.

I don't think there are any rules, but he may actually be in love, or it could be a crush, or infatuation. If he knows you don't want him saying it so often he should respect your wishes and not do it. He may be saying it in hopes of getting you to say it too.

There are no rules as to when you should and shouldn't say I love you. Some people know much sooner than others.
