Is my boyfriend in the wrong or am i?

We had a silly fight yesterday. I basically misunderstood something that he said and I made a joke. Because I misunderstood what he said the joke was offensive (its not offensive but because i misunderstood the context it sounded offensive) so I told him oh my bad i didn’t understand what you said so i made the joke with the wrong context. Then he accused me of making the joke on purpose ; he said that he thinks i got too comfortable the way i do around my girlfriends and i made the joke and now i’m facing the consequences. This is insane to me cause I was genuinely exhausted after work and i just misread his message and made a joke then when i understood the context i explained to him it was just out of context cause I MISREAD his message but he insisted that i didn’t misread and i made it on purpose and i just got to comfortable. So obviously i got mad because he is acting like i have malicious intentions and i told him to just fuck off. Do you think i’m in the wrong?
