He got out of a toxic relationship before we met & we have a beautiful thing between us but he doesn’t feel emotionally stable right now so he asked to heal on his own & possibly try again in the future when we’re both healed & better.

I think it's possible. There was a time when it would have been wise for me to do that very thing. Instead I ended up pushing her away from me forever.

If someone is knowledgeable about their emotional issues and knowledgeable about interpersonal relationships, then it is possible they will seek space until they can overcome the emotional struggles. Although it's unlikely. It's difficult to even imagine breaking up with the girl of your dreams. Most people would never consider that.

Thank you for your response. We’re very close but him & I both have unhealed trauma that is not from each other but prior factors at play before we met

It really depends on the guy and the relationship. I feel like most guys won't if they feel like she is perfect. This is probably because he feels like he will grow into her ideal mate, or he, like most people, is too greedy to let the perfect girl go.

I do feel like it should be left up to the girl, in my opinion, to make that decision and make the decision if the relationship is right for her.

He said he doesn’t want to be toxic with me or hurt me in any way while he’s not at his best so he wants to go heal from past relationship trauma first. He’s been single for only 4 months now we met the 2nd month, our timing is so f*cked lol we hate it.

Oh ya, that is probably fine. He is probably really hurting still. He is also very emotionally vulnerable right now and probably wants to avoid causing a relationship right now that might change as he heals. in my opinion, it is best to give him time and see what the future holds. You don't want to be in the way of his healing or find out in the future that the relationship isn't what you two thought it was.
