It’s hard for me to do as I cannot find joy in the suffering of others. If I switch the mental focus from enjoying someone’s suffering to focusing on feeling powerful and dominant, I feel like this is almost a form of self worship and it feels wrong. I tend to be more focused on others as opposed to myself. I do like to be dominant, so long as my actions do not create pain for others and so long as I do them no wrong. In fact it comes quite naturally to me to be dominant. I intentionally try to dial it back in all my interactions and only let myself go in that way when it’s appropriate, which in my mind is either during sex, or in warfare. I feel those places are appropriate to allow myself to express dominance unchecked. Sometimes in other areas of life like in debates or self defense it is appropriate to be dominant and not be humble.
