Why women are so cruel and sharp-edged when it comes to choose partner?

I'm average-looking bespectacled man and I've never had a girlfriend in my life and have been rejected many times. I think women's standards are brutally high when it comes to find partner.

Depends, what kind of women do you normally go after? A lot of my good looking girl friends are dating guys below their league (in terms of looks), but those guys are really sweet, funny and treat my friends really well.

Tbh my ex was not that attractive, a 4 or 5 at best but he was an awesome and funny guy, he was also really sweet and romantic. His personality alone bumped him up to an 8. So if you feel like you’re lacking the in the looks department, there are other ways to make up for it. The majority of women won’t go looking for a partner based solely on looks alone

Probably has way less to do with your looks and more to do with your self-loathing and self-doubt.

Everytime I got rejected my self-confidence decreased a little more, so now I'm trying to adapt myself to living alone.

That'll help you build that confidence and you'll have an easier time finding folks when you're able to love yourself.
