Do you know how many women I've heard say they were in a relationship with some guy they were crazy about but said that initially he wasn't the type she would have gone after but meeting him and talking to him and getting to know him something clicked and she became very attracted to him and he had a presence the drew her in that she couldn't resist?
You can find that on a dating app. They will just pick the most attractive guys, the guys that look like they make a lot and such. Without meeting them in person they gloss over those men.

I dunno, I hit pass on every woman on many different sites and then gave up. All the good ones were outside the US. I literally ran out of women to look at as options on those sites. And you might be thinking, thats a lot of swiping left, but its not.
Once you filter for atheist, non smoker, non drinker, no drugs, doesn't have or want kids, etc etc. it cuts out like 90% of the users on there, then hobbies narrow it further.
There were lots of hot women to pick from, but they were all boring hot women, or they were perfect matches who were hot and had everything in common with me, but on the other side of the planet so I couldn't date/marry them.
Point is, women may hit up 1 in 20 because they are looking fir more than just looks. And if they want a true match, 1 in 20,000 becomes unlikely.
Well considering you are swiping that is your first problem.. and the other thing is women are looking to mate with this person so they are gonna pick the best looking item not an average one..
Also many men pick women they think are less attractive then the prettiest and just try to use them so once that happens they don't give anyone a chance unless they are hot as fuck because if they are gonna be used it might as well be by someone worth it..

Not finding 95% of women attractive should be quite reasonable. You shouldn't want to date every woman you meet. Some are overweight, have bad habits, aren't attractive, or they are attractive but there is nothing drawing you towards them. Too many are generically attractive, and who cares for an attractive husk with no inner cultivation. Others are bitchy and demanding in their profiles, while not offering much in return.

However, we swipe the good-looking HOT guys because they will respond and we can get them. Since we can get the best and the hottest guys, we don't swipe you worthless average guys. If a person is looking for a matching personality, matching interests, and matching hobbies, all rolled into someone that they think is physically attractive, then online dating is the only option, because the local options are few to zero. The odds of meeting your match in the same area you live in is astronomically low.

@TheSpaceGnome There are dating sites that have more depth than "swipe left or right", unless you are talking about dating sites in general, where some of them have more information that you can take time to look at or go back and look at later, as opposed to those that just continually run pics and min-bios by you.
I mean the long bio in depth ones, the mini bio ones are more hookup apps, but most women use both just for hookups so I can't find a serious match in the US.

When I used to be use dating sites (primarily match. com but also OKCupid) I had a first few dates but nothing worked out. I would say if I sent 30 messages I might get 1 response, so it didn't pay to put a lot of thought into the messages. A big problem was that while it was free to post a profile, you had to pay to join to respond, so a lot of the profiles were useless.
30 messages? I couldn't find 1 woman worth messaging, let alone 30... I hit pass on every woman it showed me until none were left.
It was all either women I didn't like, or they were a perfect match but in another country.
I have about 200 a month messaging me, but I blocked them all.
