My thought is "I don't WANT a chance with them". Anyone who says something like that has identified themselves to me as someone with a very different values system and role expectations that are not in alignment with my own.
15 Telltale Signs You’re Dealing With A Shallow Person
1. For me, a date is an opportunity to check out chemistry with another person. I'm not trying to buy them, impress them, &c. They have little to no value to me at this point, I am trying to find out if they are worth my time and energy. Someone who comes with an attitude of "you need to give me resources as payment for my presence" has their head so far up their own ass I don't think a conversation or spending time with them would be appealing at all.
2. The gender roles are antiquated to me. I am looking for women who is self-sufficient, as I am. Buying each other gifts, treating to meals, &c, is something I see as mutual. I enjoy doing things for friends and others, but it's on my own initiative. The quickest way to get me to do a 180 on it, is let me know you think I'm obligated to give to you.
3. Spending $200 on someone (and assuming I'm also racking up a $200 bill providing myself the same amenities on the date) is outlandish. I could count on a hand the number of days I've spent $400 for myself and a partner to enjoy a nice time. One example that comes shy of that is what I consider the best brunch in town, at our local Four Seasons, for $110/person. Bottomless mimosas, all you can eat caviar, sushi, crab, and dozens of other delicacies, and it's not even hitting that $200 mark with a 25% tip. Did that for an anniversary, no way am I doing that for a first date. In fact, I would actively AVOID doing something that extravagant on a first date because I feel it is tacky and superficial to "show off" that kind of money. The women I would want to date would be turned OFF by a show of money like that, and feel uncomfortable.

The picnic lunch on the beach above would be the upper limits of extravagance, or maybe a day at an amusement part. But I would be concerned with giving the wrong impression that I'm trying to impress with money, which I am very much against.
For the top 1% of men, yeah, $200 on a date is nothing. It’s whatever. No big deal.
For 99% of men, $200 on a first date is a bit steep.
For a woman to believe she deserves to have $200 spent on her during a first date, she also needs to believe that she deserves to be with the top 1% of men.
She would need to stand out among 99% of women to be the best of the female dating pool.
I doubt that the ‘women all over TikTok’ are all part of that top 1% of the female dating pool.
In fact, entitlement is a big turn off to pretty much all men.
So, by displaying a poor character trait like entitlement is already going to make them less likely to be in the top 1% of desirable women.
Also, as someone who is generous when it comes to spending money on women I’ve dated, I’ve always have given less to women who demand for more, and have given more to women who ask for less.
If all you want is my love, I’ll also give you my wealth.
If all you want is my wealth, you’ll receive neither my wealth nor my love.
Maybe these are the TikTok crowd. I wouldn't place much weight on them.
$200 sounds like the price of a prostitute, doesn't it? Why should you spend more than a coffee on a first date when you know little to nothing about a person, except what's in their profile, or what you've chatted about online?
Oh, yeah, and I've ALSO heard, "NO COFFEE DATES!" I say, there's something wrong with this methodology of rating men. "If he has $200 to spend on me, he's passed the test."
It's wackadoo.
@pickles77 I always do!!! kisses...
@pickles77 Sounds like a cheap woman. Yes. I agree. PAY me to come on a date which I assume won't be successful. Oh this is SO boring... Free meal. Ihad a friend like this. She'd go out on dates with men she wasn't interested in AT ALL!! I could never understand. Why would I want a free meal with a man I didn't care about? I'd simply end the date and set down my half of the cash, and walk away smiling. Whew!
I don't know who's raised these weird, cheap women. But was not raised that way muself. Pay your own fucking way. You're going to go on bad dates. Guys shouldn't be stuck with the bill. maybe the woman's boring! sheesh.
@pickles77 Love that line! "NOT HER DADDY!" Sounds like T shirt material!! Also, "Not HER BANK!" It's creepy. My older cousin called me "old school." Shit. Not old school. Simply FAIR!.. What is this the 1940s?
@pickles77 Scam is the name of what they're doing. The "free meal" club. Another T shirt.
My thought is you shouldn’t believe/take serious anything on tik tok… And if there are women like this, Simple don’t date/avoid those women… but no one should use that to act like all women demand/ feel/act that way..
Booger King is much cheaper 🤣🍸
You buying tho 😁🤣
I guess lol

That's a form of prostitution... or total BS. Could be either, or bith.
"Watch the video"? No I will not. I disagree with Tristan. I disagree with those women. Watching that video would be a waste of time. Money isn't an issue, but a stranger demanding that money to be spent on them is the issue. They want to be treated like escorts but while keeping the attitude. I won't get treated however I want for spending more.
Do you want to get used? Go and spend that money.
You know what? Sure, I'll spend that money. On Gas, a new Haircut, a new jacket or shoes for me of course to wear on the date. It's still spent on the date for the date. Happy?
🤣🤣🤣🤣 Preach
TikTok is a cancerous platform that only breeds toxic individuals. It uses trends and only brings out the worst in users for clout and exposure, so basing everything at face value as what is truly going on in the dating world is a bad way to start because it isn't true. Is dating harder? Hell yeah, but not impossible.
Personally my advice for men when it comes to a first date is that if you are spending $200, she is not the woman for you. All you are doing is creating an environment for her to take advantage of you spending more and more on her. You don't spend that much on a first date. I say don't spend more than $50. You are on a first date, not exclusive or having an anniversary.
So, if a woman says I need to drop $200 on her for a first date. I am taking her ass back home. She clearly isn't worth it and is just looking to be spoiled by a sucker for the night.
I would agree to the part to an extent. But I wouldn´t put that much emphasis on the 200$+ because the idea behind it is that they want a man to really invest in the first date. There are date ideas that take planning and there are idea that are spontaneous like a going for a walk/to have ice cream...
What I take from it is that those women ask for a date that comes in the first category they want a guy that plans a date and is preparing something and has a concept of what to do and where to go. But there are ways to get that for less 200$ but still in a good way. What those women don´t want is a date at Burger King, McDonald or something that´s cheap and looks cheap.
The girls over here are not interested in ''Dollars''. We have our own currency.
Plus: I reckon that there are as many - or more - tik-tokkers who have different expectations.
Plus: beyond... indeed: there's life outside of internet.
Overall, I'm thoughtsing that this statement (the one in your question...) comes from some frustrated tik-tok-and-beyond-participants who either
- didn't get laid for their ''investment''
or
- allowed to get exploited; now regret it; and seek some kind of revenge.
Stupid is, who stupid does :)
It's on tiktok so already you know it's bullshit. Don't do anything or believe anything on tiktok.
I said and beyond
Not that far beyond social media really. Same with some of the ridiculous things that are shown on the internet about men. The real world isn't like the internet really.
Seems a little bit unfair, although with the cost of it everything going up these days, spending $200 on a date isn't that hard.
How much you spend shouldn't determine whether or not you have a chance with someone. your personality and kindness should be a bigger factor.
Yet another trend only there to rile men up and make these women go viral. Lol.
On an ideal date, I don’t want any money to be spent. Let’s meet up for a walk around the lake or something easy. That way, if it doesn’t work out, no one has lost anything but time.
I think it is ridiculous. I wouldn't even ask for that much money or expect it. I even thought about going thirsty one day when I was out with my friend since she just earned enough money for herself (she did get a drink for me too but yeah, you can see where I went with this). If you don't get it yet: I'm more concerned about a person having enough to pay bills, feed, clean, and get themselves anything important they need.
I am married so I'm out of the market. Of course, if I were still dating I would just move on and pass over any delusional woman who had this outrageous mindset.
Are there actually any fools that would even contemplate this dumb notion?
no thank you.
I can buy sex for that amount with a lot less work.
It would usually be a casual dinner, or lunch.
With lunch there was a lot less pressure and if the date was going well it could continue, if not I have the rest of the afternoon to do stuff.
No way I would ever spend that much on a first date no matter who she is.
I stopped reading at TikTok.
🤣🤣🤣
Well I don't see it as worth it unless she is defo putting out... but even as a guy nah, she ain't even a 10 LOL
Because they ask for this but then be dating multiple men and probably fucking them all.. not someone I see value in.
Thankfully women like that aren't the norm. The way i see it, if she places a monetary requirement on a first date than i am placing a sex requirement on it. cause its essentially prostitution.. But again most real women are not like that. Its just the idiotic influencers that have that kind of inflated view of their value.
Girls on tik tok? Are these girls even real? They want the guy to spend at least 200$ for a date, well they can kiss my a$$ for it 🤣🤣 i won't pay a dime and don't even want such trash for a date...
I prefer to spend 500$ on a girl who is humble, maybe poor and doesn't want a thing from me except seeing me happy, such women counts for me...
First mistake is listening to tik tok, I will spend what I decide to spend. It's a 1st date, im using it to judge her and find out more information about her and her likes. If she ask how much I'm spending on the 1st date, I take it she a gold digger, or stuck up, high maintenance, and that right there will show me we aren't compatible. So I will save money on the 1st date, just when she ask how much I'm spending. I broke up with a girlfriend once, because she ask me where do I spend my money while I was in college. My answer are we married or engaged? She said no, n I told her it none of her business then. Then I broke up with her. I like a down to earth woman.
Part of this is celebrity and influincer mindset they perceive themselves as famous and feel they can act accordingly. Whatever the guys who want a chance are probably not the ones they want.
Thay can do what they want. I never spend more than $25 on a first/second meeting. That is for both of us each time. This is a great way to weed out the food wh*res. A girl who is actually interested in me, and thus worthy of treating, will still be around after that. The diggers and foodies won't be.
Anyone saying that isn't worth my time. I could easily afford 10x that on a date, but why would I want to? I don't know her, I don't know if I even want to know her yet. Besides that just says to me she is only with me for my money, not for me.
What do you expect from TikTok? Women there are in it for profit. And they are under the illusion/delusion that they are extra hot. LOL But they are rotten inside. They are mercenaries with no soul. I wouldn't go near one.
Omg 😳 !!! Of course…what’s wrong with these cheapos? Us girls have to spend hundreds of dollars before our date!! Our mani/pedi is $100. Our hair is $200-$400. Our makeup/outfit!! We put in so much to look good! He should feel proud that he has a hot/sexy woman in his arms…. and he is complaining about $200? Next!!! 😂 I have never use TikTok anything good there?
That woman in the video is an example of the entitlement and self-importance of so many women today. If a woman chooses to buy and use all those "products" she listed, she is way too fake to deserve a quality man. Thankfully not all women are like that, but way too many are. What are women becoming?
I think that might be what the hourly rate for a prostitute is.
It's just the rich ones saying that. I guarantee you that a woman who is solid middle class, working class, or struggling - she's not saying that. So it's probably something like the women who are in the upper 2% of wealth and happen to be on tik tok.
No thanks.
that's bullshit... sure a girl would like to be taken to a resturant... and in the days of concerts that would be nice... but i never thought he has to spend 200$ at least to get something
I may or may not take her to the $3.99 buffet down the street.
Although I am willing to spend an extra dollar on the desert option if she winks at me.
It's either that or she can go pound sand.
I would not waste $200 or more or less on a date, it should be invested into a day trip instead.
Now this question did not specify the context either.
I added a video for context.
I love it that they're pressing their advantage even more nowadays, and I don't blame them one bit.
I say that's another good filter to get rid of gold diggers
Although if tiktok is where one looks to find a girl, he's already working with very few brain cells. It's the zombie apocalypse in there, a bunch of wild animals who can't think, growl and attack any working brain that dares to enter
Recently answered a question on first dates and also came to $200 - dinner with drinks at a good restaurant followed by a movie with snacks or dessert #seemslegit
I've heard of this. They want the $200 up front and that will be the last you see of it. It's a scam.
So? Their body, their heart, their soul, their rules.
High standards are BASED.
They sound like the new two bit whores... A whore's going to babylon blah blah blah...
Story holds that the Babylonians themselves strangled many of their wives and children to keep them from starving to death during the brutal siege of their capital city. In reality, their wives wouldn't stop bitching about their entitlements and need for luxuries so the men choked them the fuck out.
My thoughts are "Are they single?" I'm guessing they are.
That bus a nice meal. But I wouldn't date them. I doubt they have much to offer.
Please don't take me anywhere that costs a lot of money. I'm broke and don't want someone else to spend money on me that I wouldn't be able to spend on myself (or the both of us).
A coffee or walk should do.
@Valdemort Why? Maybe I want to spend a lot of money on you, because you deserve it.
I think the gesture would be considered kind. But just because you feel someone is deserving of a certain treatment - even when it's meant positively - doesn't necessarily mean this person will feel comfortable with that.
With regards to the OP question, especially for a first date, I personally would feel very uncomfortable if I made someone else pay for a $200 bill. But then again, I probably would never want to even order anything that could lead up to that kind of money.
This might come from not being very financially wealthy growing up, but I think if there'd ever be a situation like that in my lifetime, I would want to be able to express my concerns and how to find a mutual agreement on how one takes care of the other.
If, like you are suggesting, this other person is completely, fully, a 110% fine with spending so much money on a date, then I might have to put that standard aside and accept the gesture.
But yeah, I think I would feel very grateful, but a little uneasy nevertheless.
If they're on tik tok, they're not too bright so, I wouldn't WANT a chance with them!
I'm not spending 200 bucks on a total stranger. To hell with that.
I think is absolutely ridiculous. That's why most of them are still single.
People say all sorts of stuff on the internet. No one knows if they actually do like they say.
And good look finding someone who will do this.
For $200 i can get 2 girlfriends in Thailand simultaneously.
Very cheap actually...
I don't date such a low rates women when i go on date my minimum expenses is around 600-700$ including gifts.
why not just buy an escort at that point? if a girl is insistent on having you spend money on her she’s trying to run game on you.
Most women in the real world are reasonable and many would probably love something as simple as a nice picnic as opposed to an expensive restaurant.. Good thing Tiktok doesn't represent them..
I appreciate women that say this believe it or not. Because it makes it so much easier to weed then out when they lead with that. 👍🙂
If your loaded with money it might be expected of you but other then that it’s just the gold diggers
I think it's smart. At least they are being honest about what they want. If there's a guy stupid enough to do that then that's on them. I have a $10 first date rule that I stick to.
I don't have any of those social media apps, and any female who IS on them? I won't be associating with. Total cesspool of moral sewage. Any guy who's finding "dates" on there? Better bring a bottle of TUMS, a few bodyguards and a good lawyer.
Not all women are like that. Just stay away from the ones who are. They are essentially prostitutes.
F that. You'd be better putting it towards a hooker, which is essentially what those people are. Just less honest.
I stopped reading after „TikTok“. 🙄
Childish and immature. Simple as that.
What? In this economy? 😂
That's insane.
Eh I'm not into gold diggers anyway.
I'll tell them to pay me 200 for a first date
“Many woman” and it’s one woman 😂
That it’s just TikTok
i'll pass
