i have guy friends, doesn't mean i'd date them. doesn't matter the year, tons of girl and guys are friends. its the weird incel guys who are only friends with girls in order to date them or have sex with them and disregarding that they are a person with a good personality and can be a great friend even if they don't want to date you.

what about gay guys who are friends with lesbian girls? works the same way. it's possible.

I know this is hard for people to believe, but it is VERY possible for people of the opposite sex to just be friends without any expectations or assumptions that it will lead to more-

I have several guy friends, and JUST friends. No mixed signals, drama, or sexual tension- we play video games, talk about the gym, work... you know, things friends talk about.

It helps when both parties establish boundaries (let them know you just want a friendship and nothing more)

However, if that's not enough for some of you, usually if they're not attracted to you, physically or romantically, they have no issue being friends with you. Trust me, as the "unattractive friend," most guys see me as more of "one of the guys" than a girl, so I don't deal with any of that drama, lol.

If both are single, hetero and spend a lot of one-on-one time people around tend to assume romantic intentions, either one-sided or both. If the two only have the intention of being friends I'm confident they could, it's just seldom that way.

Yes and no. It can be a fine line. Each relationship is different. I do know the closer I grew to my husband, the less these other relationships meant. Still friends, but different level.
