Why do guys bother getting your number, then ghost you out of the blue mid conversation?

Every single guy who has asked for my number, and texted me etc, has ghosted me. I’m so sick of it now. I haven’t said anything “weird” or “bad” for this to happen. If I sound salty, it’s because I am sick of the same repetitive cycle. Last week one ghosted me because I apparently “prefer to text” when we literally only spoke for a few days and this was over the festive season, we both had plans with family, I wouldn’t expect to meet anyone at that time.

I just generally wonder why guys do this? If I don’t won’t to talk to someone anymore or wasn’t interested, I always say. I just find it pointless that they’ll get my number and then just go radio silent. Why do they do this? I really don’t get it

They want sex and you arnt giving it to them fast enough. Which, good for you don’t. Also the ones who want more of a long term relationship see texting girls as women who arnt serious about relationships so they ghost you too. Maybe just be honest and have clear expectations. I bet you would say you want honesty in a relationship. Just be very clear on what you want.

Sounds like flame out

When the conversation dies and so does the attraction and interest its called a Flame Out. It takes 2 people to keep a convo alive. But if their interest doesn't increase then it's easy to Flame Out.

When I’ve stopped texting, this has been the case for me.

I usually respond, especially if they’ve double-texted, I but don’t go out of my way to keep the conversation going if we’re not clicking.

If they’ve double or triple texted and I STILL don’t respond for a long time (like over a week) then I’m either busy as hell with something or I’m just completely not interested.

I do it because I’m way tired of waiting three days to get. “Hey.” Or “yes.” Or any emoji as a response to my thought out text with no initiation. Completely ignoring what I said by the way. I decided to stop spending my time and already deleted your number.

Texting is not an effective way of communicating. Try getting to know each other in person. Text messages can cause lots of misunderstandings or assumptions because you can't read facial expressions or the tone of what you're trying to say through messages.

Did she actually? I’d never do that. I’m just genuinely curious on the reasons from a guys perspective. I think it’s the sex thing, as I get that a lot but I always say no so maybe I’m matching with the wrong type, maybe need to change it up!

You Should try Giving your number to different types of Guys instead of just the Guys in your circle of Friends.
