How many days should pass before it’s officially ghosting?

Not so much a timeline, but watch their actions (or lack of) as well-

If a guy that went from texting or messaging me daily and responding quickly or in a timely manner, suddenly goes down to large gaps between communication with little to no explanation (ie: hours, or a day later to reply back to you). Or his replies get distant- like they don't seem as interactive or interested in communicating with you: think replies that are a few words, to the point, and as if they are trying to end the conversation, unless it's regarding a topic they're interested in or want to discuss.

I look at that as a warning that, "This person is either bored of me, distracted, or about to ghost me..." As for specific timeframe? It really does depend. If said person is going days or weeks with minimal to no stable communication with you, or at least warning you, "Hey, I'm busy doing x right now, so I can't talk as much..." you're probably getting ghosted.

Or if you're the one initiating all the conversations, yet you go... I'll say a day or two without starting the conversation and they make no attempt to reach out? Yeah...

Just use your best judgment- if they're not making the effort to talk to you, they're probably going to ghost/ghosted you.

Yeah I agree, there's no exact timeline, more about watching their lack of investment in the relationship too or change in their demeanor, especially if you've known them to be more engaged before. Have had this happen to me unfairly with an ex male friend. Super selfish of him to do, and cruel. But yet, I am not surprised. A lot of men (white and maybe other races too but more white lol), are selfish assholes.

I would say a week or two. But most times the action/responses of the person itself are also important to note. Especially if the person is usually slow to respond, dry texting or doesn't iniate contact themselves.

For instance a person who used to reply almost hourly with long paragraphs, but over time the responses were being shorter and took longer to recieve. It may happen slowly, or abrupt. Most times you can kinda feel it coming when the prson responds so little or dry, that it takes a lot of energy to keep the conversation going.

But it also depends on the situation they are in. I know some people who took a week or even 1 or 2 months to reply. Mostly due to busy schedule, travel or bad internet. Or they never replied at all because they were so busy, they just forgot about it.

Nah that’s not ghosting. Ghosting is when a person intentionally stops responding to you and/or blocks you. And they do it with no explanation and/or any legitimate reason either.

Just to clarify the first above sentence better. Some women think it’s “ghosting” when a guy stops initiating contact. However this same guy would likely respond if she initiated contact (even if it wasn’t right away). To some women this feels like a loss of power because the guy isn’t asserting his attention anymore. However that’s NOT the same as ghosting.

Not saying it’s a good sign when a guy starts doing that. It usually means he’s lost interest. However sometimes he’s got something major going on in his life and doesn’t feel like talking. It’s also possible he feels like he has given away too much of his power i. e. contacted her too much and decided to pull back.

But all in all that is not the same thing as real ghosting. And I know EXACTLY what real ghosting is. I once got ghosted after dating a girl for 9 months. THAT was real ghosting.

There is no such thing as a “virtual” relationship. No. People are usually at least 50% make believe online. I never counted someone who didn’t respond back to me on a website, dating app, etc. as “ghosting”. No. I have been ghosted after a real life connection was made.

Depends on the initial frequency they've been texting me.. If it was often then all of a sudden it became slow, and then all of a sudden it's been more than a day, they definitely ghosted my a$$.. LOL.. So basically it would have to be a full day before I think somebody ghosted me..

When you have no confidence that they will respond. Perhaps one only talks to someone every now and then but the fact of knowing they will respond means one hasn't been ghosted.
And how to know is just by how ya speak to each other. So if you are in doubt that's one thing, but if that confidence of response is now at zero then yeah you are ghosted.
