I’m sure I’ve had moments where I’ve adopted this belief/ideology/ philosophy/ mentality/ perspective LOL
but after I figured certain things couldn’t surprise me or things aren’t so “serious” (cueing the meaningfulness/meaninglessness part), I figured that was the best time to just enjoy the enjoyable and relaxing and funny parts of life.
There may not be meaning and/or some of us may not always see or find the meaning or something meaningful for us personally but it doesn’t mean we can’t find things:
FUNNY
EXCITING /thrilling
RELAXING /calming
ENJOYABLE
There doesn’t have to be an end goal for those. Sometimes as people we like to plan and we like to be taken seriously and we want to do that thing that is worthwhile and we want to win the game but we get disappointed when there’s no end boss or end quest or reward. No compensation for the real struggles we faced, and meanwhile just because there’s nothing we earn for the pain, the lessons/ struggles as unfair as they were, and we don’t get a prize. We can realize lots of people are this way and there’s still GREAT qualities to life itself.
Because I felt like I kind of knew what I needed I felt at peace to just relax and get what I had always WANTED before the whole rat race ever even began- human touch and someone to spend time with and try fun things with. I found that person so I’m not regretting or believing in the pointless stuff of life and BECAUSE I can still embrace life I think nihilistic individuals can too and still engage in and enjoy MEANINGFUL or rewarding or even just plainly enjoyable/ satisfying relationships.
No one hands us a reward and we can’t hold anything forever but while here we can find things definitely rewarding.
My husband hasn’t made any complaints yet about the beliefs I used to hold. I still don’t fully hold them because I’m always willing to be in denial and just because something may be a reality doesn't mean I have to talk about it all the time or waste time crying over it. I have decades to literally spend. Why spend it angry, isolated, or other? Better to party and live it up and nap in the spare time because naps are always a good idea 😆
So yeah, if I wasn’t married I’d definitely give dating a nihilist a go. I wouldn’t date them purely for the beliefs, I’d only consider dating them if we got along/had chemistry, and enjoyed each other’s company and such.
Maybe I’m biased. Possibly delusional, but definitely dodged a depressive bullet and found myself in a content relationship when I almost gave up on the concept/idea of love.

I agree with the statements but at the same time I believe you should make the most out of the time you have.

Absolutely impossible as I see it. I can think of no type of personality more opposite and incompatible to mine than a nihilist. I find them the most unwise people on the entire planet.

Nah I'd like for someone to at least be open minded about the existance of a higher power, people like this would most likely not care about you either if they don't care about even existing, they can kill themselves at some point or something.
Why not? Most things are rather pointless. I see every day as exactly the same, besides what I have to do.
