My boyfriend is British and his ex girlfriend was a racist. Is it wrong that I’m mad at my boyfriend for entertaining her at all? He said he didn’t know until a few months into the relationship. I’m black American, so it’s very touchy to me. Am I wrong to feel mad and hurt a little?

Depends. Did he break up because she was racist? Or did he tolerate her racism? If he tolerated it then maybe you need to move on. Tolerating racism is just as bad (in my opinion) as being racist. It means that you are not willing to stand up for what is right and decent.
I think you're overreacting. If he says he didn't know until a few months in, do you have any reason not to believe him? How long after finding out did the relationship end?
At any rate, why does it matter anyway? He's not with her anymore.
I do feel you are wrong to be mad at him for this. He could very likely be telling the truth about him not knowing she was racist. At the end of the day he is not with her anymore. So he isn’t entertaining her or her racism.
