Do men still follow the three-day rule in dating?

The experienced ones do. Understand, most people don’t know what they’re doing in the dating world and the comments below are of no surprise to me. People tend to project their levels of interest onto the other party - just because you had a great time doesn’t mean the other party had also.

It doesn’t mean they don’t like you back, but it could just be a lower level of interest. By waiting a little bit, you don’t come off as desperate, too strong, etc. Until you know the other person well enough, then you can be more reactive - there’s sometimes other forces in play at work such as internal trauma or external other options for the guy or girl.

I went out with a girl who was still a virgin in college (I’m not really into virgins, but she was a cool and attractive girl) and after the first date, she sent me a text saying “I miss you” within a few days. It turned me off completely. Why? She was getting way too attached too quickly - in other words, she came on too strong.

Had she waiting until after sex or a few dates to send that text, I would have given her a fun filled romantic night to make sure her first time was worth remembering, but ultimately I decided against it.

I've never done that. If I like the woman after the first date, I contact her the next day, sometimes right at the end of our first date.
