How normal is it to want a relationship for a number of years before marriage/kids?

I'm 34 and spent my 20s working on building a career/establishing myself financially. Now I want to settle down and first be in a committed relationship for a number of years with a woman before I get married/have kids.

I'm getting a lot of flack for wanting this, however. People are telling me that no woman want's to be in a relationship for a few years before marriage/kids if that is what she wants. Certainly that is what I'm finding about women in their 30s and I understand why, they are a in a bit of a time crunch biologically but am I wrong for wanting that timeframe?

HELL NO!! We only took 5 years before kids and SO MUCH of that was savings, paying of debt and building careers. There wasn't enough time for US. Kids can wait, hopefully, but spouse relationships can't.

I want marriage and kids right now but that is a near impossible dream because women have gotten sexist and lazy.

There is no timeframe for marriage.

Perfectly normal after my wife and I got married we waited 5 & 1/2 years before we had kids.
