Is 2 years in a relationship enough time to form a family afterwards?

Anonymous

I'll be 30 years old within a couple months, single and have reached a point of actually wanting to form a family. I don't really want to wait till I'm 40-60 years old and be confused for the child's grandfather. I want to still be alive by the time the child is in college and still have energy.

I've learned the hard way of what happens when we make a woman wait too much. My last ex girlfriend left me for that reason and she was very clear about her goals from the beginning. By the time I was ready after 5-6 years in the relationship, she felt very disappointed, unloved, insecure and left. She had already emotionally checked out. She wasn't interested anymore and I tried getting her back. She said no twice.

I've realized a woman's time is valuable to her too so I won't waste her time anymore. Is 2 years a good time? At this point I don't want to date forever either.
