Bec they like the confirmation and benefits or simply dont want to destroy the friendship they view this relationship at. Guys are no different its just pretty rare that girls chase that much thats more a biological trait of men.
What if there is no friendship?
Then you still have the confirmation and benefits. I mean it shouldn't be suprising that it feels nice to be courted.
If a man is stupid enough to chase for years, let them knock themselves out.

Not true. She probably doesn't even notice. I've had men chase after me but they never said anything. I thought they were just a little creepy. Years later I found out they were really into me but shy
