Were you ever single for a very long time, then found someone?

My solitude/independence had its day. Now I am with a special man I intend to stick with forever, and I worked so hard to find and meet him. Tbh, this is another big chapter in my life.

I had a long distance relationshipbfor 4 years. We only saw each other once or twice a year. There was no internet or video calls. She was not very active in the relationship so it was like I was alone only I had the added bonus of wondering when she would finally get sick of it and dump me. I pretty much was on my own and finally I met my future wife. She made me realize that maybe I could find somebody else. She was moving out of state and I figured I would never see her again but the encounter left such an impression on me that I called my girlfriend one night which was expensive and broke up with her over the phone.

I’ve been alone for all my life so I can’t answer by myself for the part about finding someone.
I know people who have been alone for decades but they decided to take a new path in their lives and they found someone special. It can happen, it requires determination, strength and a bit of courage.

Yep I was single all the way until I was 20. Had a couple of "talking stages" during high school tho. Buttt after my first relationship ended, I was never single for long lol I guess my first boyfriend broke the curse, he was an awesome guy, I learned a lot from him and he paved the way for my future relationships.

not sure what you would call a "long time" but to me, it was usually months and close to year it's only recent that I've been single for a longer time than that

After Sally, my first girlfriend, I was single for a year. After Carol, my 2nd, I was single for 8 years. After Anu, my 3rd, I've been single for 28 years, so far.
