Why are men more likely to consider race when it comes to dating?

Countless polls on this website reveal that most women do not have a racial preference.

I would imagine that most people regardless of gender have some amount of racial preferences, but men are more open and brazen about it. Women communicate differently, and try to say the most polite or socially acceptable things more than men. So a woman would be more likely to deny any kind of racial preference, to avoid being perceived as racist, ignorant, or judgmental. But if you asked her more about what she finds attractive, it's "blonde hair, blue eyes..." things that certain races are almost never going to have. So she might not outright admit to finding those races unattractive, but she pretty much does the same as men.

Yep, this is true. Women are more likely to go with a man who has some kind of strength, charisma, or character regardless of race. Most men are unfortunately more likely to look at race and most will prefer white, regardless of what race those men are.  But most men will have sex where there is an opportunity , no matter the race of the woman. If a white man only loves white women, he will still succumb to a private blowjob from a black woman in a quiet room in an office. Sex has no color then.

I don’t think that is just a guy thing, most people have preferences when it comes to race whether they vocalize it or not. I just don’t think someone wants to be seen as a bad person and I honestly don’t see an issue with someone having that preference so long as they aren’t being cruel over it etc. Most people go for what is familiar. I personally have been attracted to mostly white men, but that didn’t stop me from dating my one ex (biracial, black/white) or my current boyfriend (Asian) because they had characteristics personality-wise I liked and I was physically attracted to them.

I think people are forgetting the fact that women are generally progressive, and saying you have a race preference makes you look offensive.

I'll admit right now I only want to date white guys 😭 But if I was asked to fill out a survey, I'd probably say I find all races attractive, cause it makes me look better. Men don't really care about the buzz words they'll be called for answering a question, though

I think men and women are like this, men are just more vocal when it comes to it and are more likely to act upon it in most cases. Now whether if it is for the right reasons or racism or whatever, couldn’t tell you. What I will tell you is this girl I know only goes for guys with accents, a darker skin tone, and someone more “foreign” since it ‘excites’ her.

The point is, we shouldn’t really be judging on the principle of color, background, etc. however on individual character. With that being said, there will always be men and women who date on skin color / background. It’s always going to be around. As long as it’s not founded in bigotry, racism, or a secret ulterior motive only love then it is fine.

Unfortunately it looks like they may be lying in the polls. Because the websites say otherwise. That being said, as a guy who was dated pretty much every single race, I don't know a single friend that wouldn't date a hot girl from any race. I think people naturally have preferences, personally, I like Latinas, but that's because I speak Spanish and have spent a lot of time in South America. Most men I think would be happy with a hot girl. Hell most men today would be happy with any girl! I don't think men have too many preferences. Just my opinion from behind the bar and in life.

I've lived primarily in urban on both coasts NY and CA (SF Bat Area). I think it may be illegal in some Bay Area locations to be a white, male, heterosexual. When I am walking the streets at night I'm always afraid I might misidentify a trans (F) for a lesbian. Though I try to maintain a low profile but not really "in the closet.)

I don't want to offend anyone but I think my manifesting as a white, male, heterosexual is not something I should need to hide or be ashamed about. I cas't even qualify for most grant programs since my attraction to women is part of my FOIA file). I shouldn't need to keep my head down any longer.

I think we all have our superficial preferences and expectations, regardless of gender.

Me as a western Asian has no probs with either hisp/western/Asian, but black are not my cop of coffee. Of course many are surely wholesome people, but no.

Many (and I mean many) girls on dating sites describing already in the bio that they want a tall, blond/brunette guy with blue eyes.

I prefer white women, always have, but I can appreciate attractive women from all races. Just so happens I like white women the most.

Same goes / went for dating. I never dated anyone that I didn't at least initially would make a good long-term mate.

they aren't. they just prefer different races than men. what skews the statistic a bit is that unlike any other ethnicity of women, black women almost excluively go for black men. while most ethnicities of men will go for pretty much any race woman except for black ones.

In my experience racism still exists. Some women date only a certain ethnicity where others are open to all or some.

I have dated most, including different cultures, and do have a preference.

Women are not perfect, for instance they are far more likely to be worse in their preferences such as having a appearance preference or rejecting because of Autism/learning disability or physical disability. Besides if we all allowed preferences then men should be free to have a race preference.
