I'm married, but I can speak from the PoV of other men and of me when I was dating. When we find someone attractive enough to sleep with, but not attractive enough to form an LTR/marriage with, we just don't let the relationship progress. Or if she's got some major personality defects, or doesn't bring anything to the table, we also won't let the relationship progress.

Very few guys are able to sleep with a beautiful, high quality girl (from their perspective) and not allow a relationship to form. It goes against our basic instincts. Obviously players and broken men exist. That's just not the vast majority of them.

Can you provide examples of personality defects?

Also, what would you like a potential romantic partner to bring to the table?

Yeah, of course. So for personality defects, the number one is abusiveness. Other common ones are mental/emotional instability, disrespectful behavior, promiscuity, dishonesty, disloyalty, masculinity and selfishness.

For what they can bring to the table, it's entirely dependent on the guy. Femininity and nurturing are extremely common. But for more tangible qualities, things like cooking and cleaning, sexual openness, and willingness to raise children are pretty common desires for guys. Occasionally guys will want money, but that's just materialistic, consumer type guys. A lot of them being lazy and childish.
