I think my boyfriend is toxic how do I help him?

he just starts fights about small things I say and is rude to me when he's upset.

Well you have to ask yourself why he's starting these fights are you asking him questions and he has to answer most people when they have to lie they get defensive or when they hear the truth and they don't want anybody else to know it they get defensive.

It's one thing that he's toxic it's another thing that he's getting upset for the reasons that he's getting upset for whatever they might be

There's no reason to get upset about anything in this world if you're being honest and truthful about it

All you can do is point out when his specific behavior gets toxic and explain why it's a problem.

Ultimately, he has to be the one to decide he needs/wants to the change.

Best I can recommend you, is that you recommend him to some therapist or other resource and disconnect yourself from that kind of behavior, relationship, and environment. There’s other guys out there more wonderful than him, and would suit you better. 100%

If he's toxic there is nothing you can do but move on. Toxicity is not something you can work on that means you to don't mesh and should move on
