Why do hot men deal with rejection so poorly?

Question

So… There’s this guy I dated and he treated me the way as if he wanted something casual, so when I met up him I told him I used him for forgetting the guy who I had feelings for long distance and that I dated him because my leg was broken and I wanted to prove myself that I can still have anyone I want, even with just one leg :) His face changed and I can tell his ego was hugely hurt, he is probably used to be the one using people. He told me I am a hypocrite because I treat people this way and don’t like or accept to be treated the same way. I said, I am indeed a hypocrite. And that I will not accept other people play with me the way I like to be the one playing.
Then I gave him the best kiss as a goodbye, he’s been texting me to meet him again, I haven’t responded for a week and now I sent him a break it off text, he was upset and told me he is not looking for something casual with me and he wants to treat me better and take things more seriously. He also said he is willing to wait for sex as long as it takes for me to feel comfortable.
Isn’t it a bit too late? Why do guys start pursuing you after you reject them?

I feel sorry for the bloke. Hot or not.. people have feelings. He probably kept it casual at the start to see if he liked you.. like anybody else with a brain would have. You don't get into something new and tell the person your serious about them straight away? you take your time and see if you want to see each other more. I think your on a bit of a power trip here, you shouldn't treat men like that when us as women don't like that sort of treatment ourselves ^ we like honesty ! fairenough playing a little hard to get, but thats just plain harsh ^ You have nothing to prove so you shouldn't pull on peoples heart strings just because he didn't take you seriously sooner.

It doesn't matter what you do now or what you post about him as you've already given him the worst impression of you so if he conquers you out of chase he will most likely f^ck you for a couple of months and then dump you. You will most likely lose in this situation i'm afraid, you probably should have just played it breezy and not so available rather than playing games.

I'm not intending to be rude, but I don't understand why you would treat a guy like that to begin with. I also don't understand why he is contacting you anymore. He needs to find a little more self respect.

Ugh girl, hot guys can be the worst sometimes! Just because they're used to getting all the attention, they think they can play around and not take things seriously. Then when they actually get turned down, their ego can't handle it!

It's way too late for that guy to say he wants something real now. Like hello, you made it clear from the start you just wanted casual! And now you're upset she's moving on when you were just trying to use her too. Boys will really say anything to get what they want.

Don't fall for it - he's just mad his little game backfired on him. He didn't care about her feelings before, so why should she believe him now? Once a player, always a player. Hot guys don't change that easy. She should leave him in the past where he belongs! No way she needs to waste her time on someone who didn't respect her from the beginning. His loss! She can do so much better.

He didn't react that way because you rejected him. He reacted that way because you were being a total bitch by using him, then rubbing it in his face. You are lucky he didn't slap the shit out of you, because that's what you deserved. WTF is wrong with you?

It sounds like you had quite the experience with this guy! When you put it out there that you were using him to move on from someone else, it probably hit him hard. A lot of guys might get defensive when their ego takes a hit, which seems to be what happened when he called you a hypocrite.

As for why he’s now suddenly interested after you’ve decided to break it off, it’s pretty common for people to realize what they had only after it’s gone. Sometimes, rejection can make someone realize they actually do want something more serious, especially if they feel they might lose you. It could also be that he’s just not used to being turned down and wants to prove he can be better.

But if you feel it’s too late for him to change or if you’re not feeling it anymore, that’s totally valid. Trust your gut on this one—if you’re ready to move on, that’s what matters!

Great-looking guys, unlike plainer chaps, think themselves God's gift to women (though I never did) and usually women fall for them, which heightens their already enormous ego , which would be deflated by rejection, especially from a less-then-beautiful gal.
