Is it sad so few women want kids?

Question

I find it hard to find a girl that wants to have kids and be a mother. Also not a girl that just wants like 1 kid. I want a large family.  I really see the huge collapse in population happening.

Yes and their reasons are all illogical. A lot of people say they don't want to raise kids in this world because it's so tough. What part of the times we live in are harder than the past? We have better healthcare, more conveniences like groceries and technology to help us, more safety, etc.

These are literally the easiest times to live in as a human, so saying they don't want to raise kids is simply selfish.

It also shows they don't have much of a philosophical inclination. Having kids gives you a family of your own and gives you something to look forward to in life. It provides you warmth later in life (if you're a good parent) and leaves a legacy behind.

I have a serious distaste for the "I don't need a man/I'm a strong independent woman" and "I don't want kids" movement that seems to be taking over western society.

Those are the same people that will regret it later in life when they see everyone else with families they spend the majority of their time with, while they're alone.

It is, and it is a very clear sign of a society on the verge of collapse. When less people have kids, the population age distribution tilts old, so you have a ton of old people looking to collect their pensions and not enough young people to fund the systems.

we’ll literally have to just let old people die miserable deaths or give them the option of assisted death. And there’s not much we can do to avoid this fate at this point. It’s not all women’s fault either, good fathers and men who put family above pleasure are hard to come by

If a country's population starts dropping and they can't get their current citizens to wanna have more kids, they could always just encourage migrants to come in and that would fix the work force problem and the population problem. 👍 since there's not rlly any decline in total human population, this should be a fine solution indefinitly.

As for personally, there ARE still people who wanna have lots of kids (like me & husband) but unfortunately there's lots of shit that makes it hard decision like finances & physical risk. We're in a state with very bad maternal medical care so another pregnancy would be a huge risk if anything goes wrong, and we can barely afford 1 kid rn. If things improve the next year or so I would love to have more kids, but if they don't I'm worried I won't be able to make that decision...

The way I look at it there are already so many unwanted kids in foster care or up for adoption to add more kids seems selfish to me. If I were to marry someone that wanted kids I would prefer those kids come from the foster system. The idea of being pregnant and giving birth is the biggest turn off for me, I have no desire to do it

More people = fewer opportunities = more competition = fewer job opportunities = rat race = less income = low cost of living = high taxes on those who can afford fridges and AC = govt will give freebies to the poor to fix their vote bank = poor will keep having 6-12 kids and middle-income class will start having less and fewer kids = less human life value and no human development = dusty roads, the crowd in every place, unsanitary conditions of living, low-quality people = more gap between rich and poor = focus of politics will shift from development to towards freebies = more reservations = high property prices = more slums = even more tax on job class to feed ever-growing poor mouths = job class will start having fewer kids and tax-paying population will start to decline = riots and then collapse = dictatorship = job giving rich will start leaving for more affluent nations

The problem is few marriages last longer than 5 years anymore. That means the woman will have to take care of the kids herself, in most instances. Hard to juggle a job with 4 kids. So most don't want to take that chance so have none.

It doesn't make me sad. People can do what they want. I don't have fetish about women getting pregnant and giving birth. It's up to them to decide.

Personally, I never wanted kids and thank the gods for my girlfriends who were on the pill.

There’s better birth control in the west and more employment opportunities for women. Also, people don’t feel as much of a sense of community as they once did, as people go out and socialise less. For me, personally, it’s the cost of raising a family and the responsibility. The risk of my depression and anxiety getting worse and the strain it would put on the family when I was unable to work, which I am, because my depression and anxiety are so severe.

There are too may people as it is. Traffic is always bad, there is a housing shortage, I predict that drinking water will be scarce. Everyone complains about global warming but the more people you have, the more electricity you use, the more cars there are, the more food is consumed and the more waste you produce.

Below-replacement-level birthrates (assessed as 2.1 children per woman) is a sign of good societal financial well-being. Should these birthrates plunge to under 11/2 children per woman (as in here in Canada and nearly the U. S.), controlled, orderly immigration is the key to maintaining the population numbers. It is a problem. The one child policy in China ruined their demographics. Russia is also having a problem with low birthrates. Japan is seeing a huge drop in births.
